Your Impact to the Mission:
VMD is seeking a Senior Manager to work in our Arlington, VA office at the Pentagon. In this position, the Senior Manager will oversee a program of approximately 60-80 people within the Air Force, specifically supporting the Chief Information Officer in providing integrated cybersecurity policies across the military branch. This program will provide assistance and advisory services to directly support the organization predominantly in the following areas: strategic planning, organizational planning, developing policy, enforcing and auditing policy compliance, aligning policy with strategic goals, and analysis of current programs and projects.
You will have the opportunity to work on the following:
Formulate business strategy, financial and execution plans for achieving financial objectives.
Performs contract reviews to ensure compliance and deliverables execution; monitors contract, subcontract, and funding; prepare forecasts of program financial performance.
Develops and delivers required contract, departmental, project and/or financial reports.
Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program execution and work across the organization to establish and monitor mitigation plans
Prepares staffing plans, including skill and labor mix, to support contract operations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated strategies that capture opportunities across businesses and drive profitable growth.
Experience in creating and executing a growth plan for the program
Identify efficiencies and present recommended improvement opportunities at various levels of management.
Excellent presentation and verbal and written communication skills, including effective reporting of operations, issues and performance.
Hire/mentor staff and matrixed team members, and provide guidance on adherence to best practices.
SAF CIO A6 SME on CHES, DEOS, ECAPS & EMNS
Conducting analytic assessment of the current IT Portfolio including: identifying pain points, filling policy gaps, correcting broken processes, and leveraging innovation and industry best practices
Collaborating with government staff to stand up a cost management working group to intelligently fund programs across the FYDP based on mission needs and available resources
Conducting an acquisition and contract support assessment using a maturity model to baseline the current state
Creating an implementation roadmap to resolve issues uncovered in the analytic assessment of the portfolio
Leveraging a project work plan with accompanying dates, goals, and milestones readily available across the enterprise on SharePoint
Experience Needed to Be Successful:
10 years of experience with at least 5 years of recent experience support an agency within the Department of Defense.
At least 3 years of experience of direct leadership over a program consisting of at least 40 personnel.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability and experience interfacing with all levels and military ranks.
Strong understanding of Cloud, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Portfolio Management, and Policy / Governance for IT efforts within a large organization.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Recent or past experience leading programs providing services to the USAF.
PMP, preferably PgMP
Basic Qualifiers:
Education Requirement : Bachelor's degree
