The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities & Engineering the Supervisor/Senior Supervisor,
Maintenance will be part of the leadership team for our Facilities & Engineering department supporting Sanford Manufacturing facility. This position will develop a capable team to support cGMP operations using robust maintenance strategies and methods. The Supervisor/Senior Supervisor, Maintenance will lead a small team of employees and vendors supporting multiple departments and functions. The role is located in Sanford, NC.
Primary Responsibilities
Be part of the department's leadership team responsible for day-to-day operations of the Central Utility Plant (CUP)and facilities services. Support troubleshooting and recovery efforts including after-hours when necessary.
Create maintenance plans using technical manuals and other references. Assist with defining maintenance schedules, parameters, and BOMs.
Oversee execution and improvement of the maintenance programs to maximize asset up-time.
Ensure maintenance methods are current and compliant.
Develop training plans, ensure timely completion of training, and maintain training binders for teams.
Assign and review work orders using a CMMS. Monitor employees progress to ensure maintenance records and service reports follow cGMP.
Understand and adhere to internal and external regulations, procedures, and policies to ensure facilities and equipment are fit for use and minimize service interruptions.
Collaborate with internal customers and vendors to improve services.
Manage critical spares to reduce MTTR and MTBF.
Collaborate on changes to monitoring systems (e.g., EMS, DCS) using Good Engineering Practices to increase system reliability and efficiency.
Assign and review work orders using a CMMS. Monitor employees progress to ensure maintenance records and service reports follow cGMP.
Requirements
About you
Must Have/Required
High School diploma with 6 years of experience, Technical certificate/license, or A degree with
4 years of experience, BA/BS degree with a 2 years of experience in a
maintenance role in a regulated industry
2 years of supervisory experience as a lead worker or higher including writing employee
appraisals/evaluations.
2 years' demonstrated experience with a CMMS, including planning and scheduling.
2 years' successful experience for utility plant systems, manufacturing, and lab
Excellent technical writing skills including SOPs, maintenance procedures and routine reports.
Expertise in interpreting technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, logic flow charts,
operating and maintenance manuals.
Strong GxP knowledge and understanding.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Good working knowledge of safety practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others. Effective
coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills.
Excellent oral and written communications skills. A history of effectively speaking before groups
of customers or employees of organization.
Occasionally required to stand up to 6 hours a day. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand; walk; talk or hear; and
use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is
occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift 50 lbs.
Strong knowledge of Electronic and Electrical principals.
Flexible and excels in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations in which
only limited standardization exists.
Proficiency with office and project software.

May Have/Preferred
Experience in a small company and high growth, fast-paced environment
Lean Six Sigma experience, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project.
Understanding of PLC and BAS programing.
Previous experience with a facility start-up.
Supervision of contractors and vendors.
Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Life Sciences experience.
