Job Description:

Director/Worcester State University Speech-Language-Hearing Center
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Dean, School of Science, Technology, and Health
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Supervises full and part-time Clinical Instructors, faculty case managers, graduate students, Assistant Clinical Coordinator, and Clinical Audiologist of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department.
General Statement of Duties:
Manages the daily operation of the Worcester State University Speech-Language-Hearing Center and coordinates clinical education of graduate students in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Works closely with Department Chair regarding program implementation.
Responsibilities:
(E) = Essential
(E) Schedules screening, diagnostic, and therapy services in the University Speech-Language-Hearing Center.
(E) Schedules and conducts center staff and semester student clinic meetings.
(E) Responsible for center coverage by a CCC person, including availability up to two evenings per week.
(E) Coordinates billing and collection fees.
(E) Schedules screening and public education presentations in off-campus settings.
(E) Establishes new affiliations in the community, including telephone and in-person communication as well as coordination and review of affiliation agreements.
(E) Works as a liaison to public and private health-related and education agencies.
(E) Schedules outside placement practicum assignments, and calculates and prepares Professional Development Point certificates for cooperating practitioners.
(E) Supervises and evaluates graduate students in on and off-campus practicum experiences. Responsible for finalizing each student's semester clock hours, ensuring compliance with ASHA certification requirements.
(E) Supervises and evaluates Clinical Instructors' performance and duties within the University Speech-Language-Hearing Center and in outside placements.
(E) Supervises and evaluates Assistant Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Audiologist in their performance of duties.
(E) Coordinates scheduling and facilitates faculty involvement as case managers in the WSU Speech-Language-Hearing Center and in outside placements.
(E) Distributes, analyzes, and reviews supervision surveys completed by student clinicians. Initiates plans of rectification, when necessary.
(E) Distributes client surveys and completes statistical analysis of consumer satisfaction. Initiates plans of rectification.
(E) Contributes to preparation of national accreditation report as needed.
(E) Rewrites the Center Manual annually to reflect updated ASHA standards and changes in departmental policies and procedures.
(E) Monitors and maintains client records.
(E) Responsible for quality assurance in center operations affecting adherence to state and federal laws and accrediting body standards.
(E) Coordinates orders of equipment, furniture, therapy materials, and diagnostic materials for the WSU Speech-Language-Hearing Center.
(E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
(E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
(E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
M.A. or M.S. and ASHA Certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in Massachusetts.
Minimum of three years paid experience in Speech-Language Pathology.
Knowledge of graduate clinical practicum experience.
Knowledge of clinic administration.
Minimum of 2 hours of continuing education in clinical supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory experience.
Completion of 10 hours of continuing education in telepractice.
License as Teacher of Children with Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.
