This position is based in Northbrook, Illinois. Remote work from certain states may be permitted in accordance with Astellas' Responsible Flexibility Guidelines. Candidates interested in remote work are encouraged to apply.
Purpose and Scope:
Manages operational flow of order activities between Astellas and third-party logistics (3PL) distribution centers in US, Canada, and Netherlands. Ensures that daily shipments of customer orders are achieved through critical collaboration with IS, QA, Product Security, and 3PL stakeholders. Ensures proper execution of inbound shipments and inventory control. Responsible for GDP compliance in the execution of the DC operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Manages sales order flow and daily operational activities with third party logistics (3PL) providers. Communicates requirements of Astellas best practices and procedures to ensure good distribution practices are maintained. Responsible for work instructions at 3PL.
Leads efforts to determine inventory control requirements at distribution centers. Implements and maintains corporate policies, procedures, and communications to ensure the inventory control risk management responsibility is conducted in accordance with JSOX requirements and supports JSOX audit. Maintains procedural manuals and reference materials to ensure that 3PL employees have proper guidelines for handling inventory control issues in a compliant manner.
Trouble shoots and resolves complex order flow issues with IS, QA and other relevant stakeholders. Escalates and communicates user issues to Astellas Leadership as needed for further resolution.
Independently manages physical and systematic inventory cycle counting at 3PL locations. Ensures inventory is in alignment and immediately resolves discrepancies. Investigates and drives corrective action for DC related errors and/or computer systems reporting issues.
Analyzes KPI Metrics for Astellas US, EU and 3PL providers. Identifies trends, patterns and outliers. Identifies potential short-dated products and takes corrective action to minimize expired product at all distribution centers. Independently leads and manages the pending destruction process with the 3PL providers.
Completes special reports and projects as required. Supports SAP enhancements rollout and testing requirements.

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
College Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field
Basic knowledge of distribution management and third-party logistics providers
Excellent analytical, communication and people skills.
Two to five years of inventory control experience with multi-location replenishment experience
Proven ability in effective analytical skills and PC based systems knowledge
Preferred
Pharmaceutical and GMP knowledge
