Job Description:
Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by developing, maintaining, and executing the admissions office's recruitment, communication, and marketing plan with the purpose of promoting the college's visibility and general recruitment efforts. The incumbent will take a lead role in coordinating and overseeing the recruitment of international students through the development of enrollment initiatives.
Salary: $55,000/year or more, depending on experience.
Essential Functions
Develops and executes marketing/enrollment plans for international students, with the expectation to increase the percent of international students.
Recruits, interviews, and reviews prospective students for admission and scholarship for both degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking applicants.
Manages applications to include gathering information for incomplete files; preparing completed applications; making decisions on student applicants and cultivating applicants from a specific geographic location. Makes decision on applicant files.
Ensures that all visiting students and families have a pleasant and informative visit to campus by supporting the success of various student-visit programs through conducting information sessions, campus tours, one-on-one interviews, virtual webinars, and meetings, and collaborating with a wide variety of departments and offices across campus.
Works with the Director of Enrollment and Admissions Marketing and other senior officers to develop effective communication with international community groups.
Develops and manages recruitment initiatives from inquiry to enrollment for assigned markets.
Assists the Director of Enrollment and Admissions Marketing with identifying new target populations of diverse students.
Meets with the appropriate faculty members to discuss enrollment goals and initiatives for international student populations.
Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility, financial aid application procedures, aid programs, costs, and indebtedness.
Develops and maintains relationships with international educational consultants and Education USA centers around the world.
Plans, coordinates, and participates in activities, exchanges information, resolves problems, and promotes a campus-wide awareness of enrollment activities-especially those related to international students with the Director of Enrollment and Admissions Marketing.
Tracks and reports out on national and international trends related to international student populations.
Coordinates relationships with professional organizations (e.g. NAFSA, NACAC, and International ACAC).
Represents the University at on and off-campus events including open houses, regional events, and academic showcases and strategic high school visits. May include international travel.
Other Functions
Assesses the performance of direct reports and provides frequent feedback to optimize their performance.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information.
Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.
Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned.
Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.
Speaks, reads, and writes in English.
Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.
Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred
3 years Admissions/Recruitment experience preferred. 1 year or more of experience serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) through the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
Supervisory experience preferred
Military experience, military school experience or ROTC experience(s) a plus, but not required
A valid driver's license is required
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook); experience with Banner and Slate preferred
Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 20 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus
Work some evening or weekend hours
Travel as needed (public or private transportation)
Environmental Conditions
Indoor work at a computer workstation
Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
