Purpose and Scope:
Astellas is expanding its U.S. Marketing team to prepare for the highly anticipated launch of zolbetuximab, a novel targeted therapy currently being evaluated in two pivotal Phase III trials for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer.
The Senior Marketing Manager of Health Care Provider (HCP) Promotion will be a key member of the US zolbetuximab brand team, leading the development and implementation of key promotional materials for the sales force and non-personal channels in preparation for launch.
The successful candidate will report to the Associate Director, Oncology Marketing, zolbetuximab HCP Promotion and will be working in close collaboration with internal and external partners, especially: Global Marketing, Sales, Sales Training, Market Research, Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs, Omnichannel Operations, other members of the brand team, and agencies.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of personal and non-personal HCP promotional tactics for zolbetuximab to achieve brand strategies and sales targets upon launch.
Leverage market, customer, competitive, and internal partner insights to identify and propose creative solutions to overcome barriers to adoption.
Ensure that promotional tactics and programs are highly effective and compliant by owning projects through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory (MLR) review process. Collaborate with Ethics and Compliance (E&C) to ensure promotional campaigns and programs abide to the appropriate E&C standards.
Collaborate with Sales Training on HCP promotional tactics and is a key contributor in the planning of training in preparation for launch and execution.
Collaborate with Patient, Companion Diagnostic, and Key Customer marketers to identify opportunities for promotional synergies and an enhanced customer experience.
Own congress planning for the brand while coordinating with Astellas Oncology Franchise and other brand team members in the monthly congress planning team meetings. Ensures strong coordination across media and creative agencies, corporate communications, and Key Customer marketing activities surrounding congresses.
Ensure assigned projects are planned appropriately, completed on time, and within budget
Contribute to the annual US brand and tactical plan for HCP promotion and participates in USCore Team meetings
Partners with Astellas Oncology Franchise and other brand team marketers to share best-practices.
Demonstrates strong ethics, a growth-oriented mindset, the ability to influence without direct authority, and friendly demeanor aligned to Astellas and zolbetuximab team culture.
Quantitative Dimensions:
This position will directly impact the achievement of brand strategies and sales targets for zolbetuximab upon launch, including the achievement of sales forecast goals, market share targets, and other key performance indicators.
This role also directly impacts the Advertising & Promotional budget based on the efficient use of resources including management of vendors, negotiation for services, and monitoring of budget.
Organizational Context:
This individual will report to the Associate Director of HCP Marketing for zolbetuximab. This role has no direct reports. The position requires a significant level of internal collaboration across numerous functions (including senior leadership), internal and external stakeholders, as well as customers.

Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree
7 years of related, relevant experience (i.e., marketing, advertising, sales, sales training, market research, etc.).
Strong project management skills with the ability to proactively manage competing priorities
Strong written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence without direct authority
Ability to present and discuss complex issues to higher level management
Experience owning projects through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process
Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred
Knowledge of the Oncology market, ideally within gastric/GEJ cancer
Marketing and/or experience in Oncology or Rare Disease
Marketing and/or experience with biomarker-driven targeted therapies
Knowledge of and recent experience in launching an oncology drug
MBA degree or other related graduate-level degree
