Business Manager

Business Office Manager is responsible for maintenaning of the District’s finances in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, budget analysis, database management, asset tracking, and financial reporting. The position is expected to progressively assume responsibility for supervision of Business Office staff.

Successful candidates will have an accounting degree, public sector accounting experience (ideally in a school setting) and be familiar with accounting software. The position is full time, year-round and reports to the Executive Director of Finance and Operations.

Qualifications:

Accounting degree. Alternative credentials will be considered.

Experience performing a variety of accounting activities. School accounting experience preferred.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Essential Duties:

Perform various accounting activities in accordance with standards and best practices as defined by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

Manage the District’s accounting system to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data.

Monitor compliance with District financial procedures and internal controls, including budgetary, procurement, cash collection and accounting activities.

Perform accounting activities, budget analysis, database management, and financial reporting. Examples include bank reconciliations, purchase order approvals, budget development, and grant reporting.

Provide training and support related to District accounting functions and reporting obligations.

Perform other tasks and duties.
