JOB SUMMARY
Help Marriott achieve its vision to be the world favorite travel company by leading key components of our enterprise data platform. In this role you will have direct management responsibility for Marriott Project Managers, Software Engineers and Data Analysts. You will formulate and lead multiple project teams consisting of Marriott Associates and Server Provider resources to deliver optimal solutions for data, analytics and machine learning capabilities. You will be responsible for defining and creating scalable/secure solutions to deliver real world capabilities within a rapidly evolving modern data platform. You will collaborate extensively with Data Products, Data Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Infrastructure and Global Information Security teams to develop world class data solutions. You will strategically partner with Service Providers to ensure optimal team resources and cost structures. You will estimate project initiatives, set project timelines, manage project financials, identify & mitigate key risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Interested candidates should be self-starters and have a strong curiosity and passion for both data and data technologies. Interested candidates will have multiple years of experience in a fast paced and complex enterprise data environment with a successful track record of managing teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
8 years’ data application and platforms development leadership experience
5 years’ recent leadership experience delivering complex data projects or platforms
Direct management of complex project budgets in excess of $3M annual direct and indirect costs
Direct management of cross functional, sourced, or matrixed teams
Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale data initiatives/transformations
Experience with and knowledge of IT outsourcing activities in a managed services environment
Proven management experience in application development across waterfall and agile methodologies
Proven leadership in designing data and analytics platforms and applications
Strong background in data engineering, business intelligence and analytics application development
Strong process management, negotiating, influencing and problem resolution skills
Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Expertise in consumer data management disciplines
Experience in customer data integration for consumer-oriented companies
Experience in modern data stack technologies
Experience in Public Cloud technologies (AWS)
Solid understanding of IT financial structures and ability to manage to corporate financial processes and standards - including drivers of process costs
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms
Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and leading in a managed service environment
Undergraduate/graduate degree
Preferred:
Prior experience in customer domain, MDM, Profile Management, Privacy, data localization
Demonstrated ability to anticipate future data platform opportunities
Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment
Prior experience in AWS, S3, EMR, Snowflake, NiFi, Airflow or other similar platforms/products is preferred.
Graduate degree

Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients

The salary range for this position is $107,850.00 to $239,250.00 annually.
Colorado Applicants Only:
The salary range for this position is $107,850.00 to $217,498.00 annually.
New York City & Westchester County, NY Applicants Only:
The salary range for this position is $130,500.00 to $239,250.00 annually.
Washington Applicants Only:
The salary range for this position is $107,850.00 to $239,250.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants. Employees will accrue 0.4616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
