WHAT YOU BRING


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
8 years' extensive experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or transaction services/financial business process consulting; experience within a large multinational, publicly held company required
CPA required
Strong US GAAP experience and technical accounting knowledge
Strong commercial and business acumen, with ability to translate business requirements into financial risks and controls
Strong communication and partner engagement skills; influence and inform partners on complex technical topics
High standards for quality and the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and requests; ability to innovate and navigate through ambiguity
Ability to assess financial risks and controls across end to end business and operational processes
Experience with identifying and applying complex accounting treatment to business arrangements
Experience with and ability to work collaboratively across functions
Proven track record to problem solve and effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts
Ability to travel internationally
Ability to pass a 7-year background check

As ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR, INNOVATION & PRODUCT SUPPLY CHAIN, you will lead our Controlling team responsible for accounting oversight of finished goods sourcing and manufacturing activities for Global Apparel and Accessories, as well as Global Materials sourcing and manufacturing across all product engines. You will have an outstanding opportunity to be part of NIKE’s end-to-end supply chain, in a leadership role that directly supports our business partners as they innovate and deliver incredible NIKE product to our global marketplace. This leader and their team play a heavily business facing role, working with Product Supply Chain leaders and their teams, as well as our Global Supply Chain Finance team, informing sound decision-making through the lens of strong, proactive business partnership and team leadership.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

In this role you will ensure that all arrangements and transactions entered into across the business units you support are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and NIKE accounting policy, ensuring proactive communication of accounting matters to Controlling, Finance and Business leadership. A top candidate will have the proven track record to navigate highly judgmental, complex and varied accounting concepts. You will also lead your team through and play a critical oversight role in NIKE’s month/quarter-end closing and reporting process, including direct ownership and accountability for manufacturing related financial statement disclosures.

While mastering and driving the fundamentals will be critical, your ability to operate in a very dynamic environment and work effectively with a variety of internal partners will also be crucial. You will lead a complex matrix of internal partnerships with cross functional teams across NIKE’s end-to-end Supply Chain, Finance, Treasury and Trading Company organizations.

A top candidate needs to have outstanding leadership capabilities, the proven track record to build positive relationships, influence and communicate financial stories to a wide and varied audience, and work through others across cultures and knowledge of core accounting principles and related control environments. You should be very comfortable with ambiguous situations and communicating directly with senior leadership, and excited about the opportunity to make a significant impact at NIKE.
