SUMMARY: This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and may be responsible for any of the following duties: planning and supervising the execution of cost effective and timely maintenance necessary for the operation of all equipment. This includes directing coordinating and supporting maintenance personnel; working with contractors, vendors or company engineering in the modification or installation of equipment; and troubleshooting and resolving new and or different technical problems regarding equipment.
This role has four direct reports, including two Automation Technicians and two Computer Technicians and is responsible for electrical and control process improvements and troubleshooting issues that are beyond the capability of the shift electricians. Will also be responsible for calibration of scales and other metering devices. Will provide indirect supervision to as many as twenty additional electricians that provide shift coverage.
Other Responsibilities: Filling in as Shift Supervisor during absences. Maintaining relevant records and ensuring OSHA standards and programs are implemented; instructing in the use of personal protective equipment; and implementing new ways of improving ergonomics within the facility. Maintaining compliance with Process Safety Management Standards. Skill development of team members. High Pressure Boiler Compressed Air System Hot Water Generation and HVAC systems management and maintenance is preferred. This position is also responsible for coordinating Team Member schedules handling time and attendance records holding monthly safety meetings and performing other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses.
Experience: 3 plus years in Industrial Maintenance. Experience with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, PLC and HMI programming and electrical distribution systems is required. Experience in food processing and GMPs is preferred.
Computer Skills: MS Office, Windows, Ethernet IP, Windows servers, SAP, and programming software for PLCs, HMIs and VFDs.
Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
