Profile

Description:
This is an exciting chance to be part of a progressive and cutting-edge University in a beautiful location, where you can really make a difference. The University of Plymouth is a great place to work, with excellent opportunities for career development and progression for staff, as well as striving to put students at the heart of everything we do. Our Student Services Department has been reshaped over the past three years which has seen the introduction of the Student Conduct Office and our Student Hub. We recognise that life for our students is a transformative and exciting time but transitioning to higher education can sometimes be a challenge. We have been proactive and transformational in the work we have been doing in prevention of sexual violence and the promotion of healthy relationships. The University is proud to be the lead in the Government’s Safer Streets 4 project for the Plymouth community, which aims to tackle neighbourhood crime, anti-social behaviour and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) by working with a number of local organisations and charities. National data shows that Plymouth is viewed among the safest cities in the country, and this bid – led by Student Services – will help to maintain its position and help our students and the wider city feel safer. We are recruiting a fixed term Project Manager until 30th September 2023 to oversee the project. You will be an experienced project manager with experience in agile methods and you will have the ability to communicate with and manage relationships with partners, stakeholders and wider University teams professionally and effectively. We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, has excellent IT and administrative skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You need to be comfortable with monitoring and reporting on financial information and have experience of working in a multidisciplinary or multi-agency environment. Ideally you will have a good understanding of community safety and/or VAWG and experience of working in a HEI environment. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. For an informal discussion to find out more about the role then please contact Neil Gillett by email at ****. Interviews are likely to take place week commencing Monday 12th September 2022 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 30th September 2023 due to funding. Flexible working options including job share will be considered. We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits, including ongoing development opportunities. A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by the University of Plymouth Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Plymouth. Employees of the University of Plymouth Services Limited work alongside the University of Plymouth colleagues in delivery of Plymouth’s strategic vision, and will adopt the University of Plymouth’s HR policies and procedures in full unless otherwise stated. The University of Plymouth is a diverse, welcoming community where everyone makes a difference and is encouraged to bring their whole selves to work. To find out more about our inclusive community, initiatives such as Athena Swan and the Race Equality Charter and our range of benefits / support mechanisms such as flexible working, staff networks and enhanced maternity, paternity & adoption leave please visit our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion webpages We particularly welcome applicants from under-represented groups such as BAME/BIPOC and LGBT .
