This role is fixed term for three years.
Estates Services wishes to appoint to the rewarding and challenging role of capital projects programme manager with specific portfolio for the Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) and University Administrative Services (UAS). The portfolio has a value of in excess of £100m presently with projects ranging from simple to complex, and technically advanced, facilities.
The principal responsibility will be to lead on the management, monitoring and coordination of the capital project programmes.  The post holder will ensure the efficient delivery, in accordance with relative legislation and University governance, of projects that meet the need of the stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities will include: leading project delivery across the full portfolio of projects including Medical, Physical, Life and Social Sciences, dependent on current project pipeline and strategy; working closely with the University’s development partner, Legal & General, where projects are funded by the development partner and; fulfilling the role of User Representative and/or Project Manager during a project’s early stages or post completion as required.
The post holder will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team and will have: demonstrable relevant experience of coordinating a complex capital project portfolio; a broad professional client or project management orientated understanding and experience of project delivery and; excellent interpersonal and written skills.
