Job Description:
The Convenience Retail Inventory Management Manager will make a fundamental contribution to the development of the Mobility (Retail) Canada MBA strategy of owning dry stock. Manage a team to lead the design and implementation of a very complex end-to-end CR Inventory Management strategy for the Company Owned MBA (Mobility Business Agreement) channel. This role will work within a new mobility framework of the MBA model but will have the freedom to create new framework and polices for the dry stock ownership independently since it is a new venture for Shell to own CR goods to achieve value realization. The role will co-operate with stakeholder groups throughout the entire mobility organization and external parties on both tactical & strategic level and manages opposite interests. The role will be a critical interface between the District Managers, Territory Managers, Mobility Operations, CR SMEs, Credit, Finance and the C&P Team. This individual will use various tools to understand the business and translates business challenges for both short team and long term. Creation of new, actionable approaches and solutions to deliver business value and profit. The Inventory manager is the lead business manager with financial accountability for the working capital of CR inventory of $35 Million enabling sells of $800M per year.
Accountabilities
o Develop, implement, and manage strategic activities to enable the business to own CR inventory within an Inventory Controllership Framework
o Drives safety leadership and on-site safety during audit for everyone involved
o Manage invoices, inventory, COGS, shrink & waste performance
o Process inventory & shrink results for the MBA incentive model within 2-3 days of the audit
o Own SKU level and site level inventory adjustment insights to share with the mobility teams to increase opportunity & decrease risks
o To connect CR – Ops – Finance for model efficiency & benefits output
o Manage agreed-upon RACI between other key stakeholder groups (Finance, CR, Ops and Sales and Ops)
o Create and manage vendor payment processes, and appropriate reconciliations between invoices posted and GSAP AP payment are completed
o Inventory services contract account holder for audit, price book services and all other items related to dry stock ownership management
o Managing a team of Price book services that creates and maintains regular and promotional cost and retail pricing databases for mobility locations utilizing various information resources such as Category Manager, Retail Accounting, and Vendors.
o Create and manage the MBA Inventory Management Steering Group and lead the process with Program Operations Manager and Operations Excellence Advisor. (MBA Inventory Management Steering Group – Senior managers including General Manager, Operations Manager, District Managers and CR Manager)
o Support the local operating platform standards, including liaison with the Global teams that define the Compliance and Performance area, and is responsible for adherence to the supported standard in the OU according to the Global Governance and Manuals of Authorities.
o Managing a cross-functional team comprising vendor, outsourced and in-house resources, executing discovery based on user/customer research and feedback, waterfall and agile delivery, budget management, and maintaining and implementing the longer-term dry stock ownership roadmap.
o Enabling the business of a full range of Retail Financial, Fuel & Wholesale modules, also including exposure to EDI integration, POS integration, price book management, tax, and price zone configuration
o Initiative and organizational ability are required to prioritize and achieve established deadlines in a timely manner.
o Must be able to identify, communicate and troubleshoot issues and resolve clearly.
o Propose new techniques, innovative digital solutions, and training to achieve the best inventory result accurately and timely

Special Challenges
Understand the retail sales and operations processes, service station and C-store operations.
Develop tools for effective performance measurement and monitoring of retailer and territory manager compliance with the dry stock inventory management framework
Experience and Qualification
• Extensive experience working with Convenience Retail inventory management systems.
• A strong working knowledge of PDI Enterprise would be a great asset.
• 10 years of Project Management experience
• 10 years of experience working in the Retail industry
• Experience leading projects with a high degree of business process change
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of Retail business and processes.
• Bachelor degree
• Retail site operations and/or territory management experience an asset
• Strong hands-on experience in research, project management, stakeholder management, and advanced skills in Excel and/or Power BI
• Knowledge in SQL skills is an asset in creating performance reporting
• Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and deliver effectively against tight timelines
• Demonstrates a commercial mindset with a customer-focused approach
