Our client is a fast-growing non-profit that exists to equalize economic opportunity by connecting marginalized entrepreneurs with the people and skills they need to succeed. The right person for this role will be energized by change, results-oriented, and passionate about helping people through thoughtful, data-driven problem solving.
Our client's members ARE the program (by the very nature of peer-to-peer!), so this newly-created role is critical to our client's success. The Member Engagement and Retention Manager will be responsible for defining, measuring, and enhancing the quality of the member experience. This includes all touch points members have with the organization after being recruited and qualified for the program. This position may be remote or hybrid, depending on the candidates ability to access the Pittsburgh office.
In collaboration with the Program Director, Program Coordinator, and the team of Community Directors, the Member Engagement and Retention Manager will be responsible for many facets of the member journey, including, but not limited to:
development and implementation of new member orientation materials and welcome kits; 
creation and implementation of a communication plan for new members awaiting the first meeting of their peer groups;
ongoing review, revision, and updating of the content of peer group meeting reminders;
working with Community Directors to offer more opportunities for cross-group member interactions and networking;
the long term innovation and management of the member directory;
participating in the development and execution of “member-only” and “member public” programming beyond the monthly peer group meetings;
recording and analyzing member exits and exit survey results;
monitoring member satisfaction survey results;
monitoring member business growth and program results through our member progress scorecard;
coordinating and analyzing semi-annual member KPI collection;
participating in the innovation of our application process to reduce barriers and streamline the journey from prospect to member;
participating in the development of new programs such as our Spanish language program, programming after “graduation” from a peer group, and other major organizational initiatives;
generally, communicating regularly with members, becoming highly attuned to their experience with our organization, making thoughtful recommendations to improve it, and implementing those recommendations in collaboration with the other members of the Program Department.

5 or more years of experience in a similar role in a membership organization or working in support of entrepreneurs. An advanced degree in a related field maybe substituted for up to 3 years experience.

A candidate who is familiar with economic development and/or small business ownership is preferred.
