This role is at the core of our challenge to all employees at Best Buy to think, work, and evolve differently. This role will be focused on helping the cross functional teams optimize their operations with the focus of truly being customer and employee obsessed. This individual will identify and lead the operational excellence initiatives in a horizontal manner across the organization and is not dedicated to work within one vertical. This will be done through effective leadership and working relationships with business leaders, functional change agents, and all applicable functional department personnel. This role will also include advising senior leadership on the nature and progress of identified improvement activities that are targeted towards the improvement of customer experience, employee experience, efficiency improvements, and cost savings.
The Continuous Process Improvement Assoc. Manager is responsible for future state process analysis, documentation, solution design, measurement and cost benefits for Best Buy Omni-Channel Operations.
Role Responsibilities:
Business process and capability assessment to inform Business teams on their strategy development using internal and external knowledge sources.
Decision support and business case development as a resource for business teams.
Project Mgmt. (managing multiple smaller projects or single large program)
Cross-functional partnership and relationship mgmt. with both corporate and field partners.
Advocate on behalf of customer and employee outcomes. Maintain relationships within the customer and employee research teams.
Strong P&L acumen with ability to understand how changes to one P&L metric will impact others. Maintain relationships with finance partners.
Dynamic and critical thinking to challenge status quo as necessary; learns from and adapts leveraging a multitude of information and find important patterns or anomalies. (financial, survey, operational, observations).
Develops recommendations to the business on how to improve performance (e.g., financial, operational, etc.).
Basic Requirements:
Bachelors degree or commensurate experience in continuous improvement or closely related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of practical experience where individual successfully demonstrated a broad knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma practices, analytical methodologies, problem solving and research skills.
Can create, read, edit, and design process/system flows and value stream mapping.
Strong skills in data collection, statistical analysis and decision making. (Strongly preferred Six Sigma Green Belt certification or DMAIC process familiarity.)
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business and SOP.
Identifies and recommends projects to address current and future needs of the business.
Influencing without authority while managing multiple workstreams with competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a wide variety of customer personnel at varying levels of the organization including executive leadership.
Ability to understand and measure how business changes impact different lines on the P&L. (1 year finance experience min)
