Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Community Relations
to join their team. The Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Community Relations will serve as a member of the external operations team and work to advance the strategic plan for Grizzly Athletics. This position will report directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, and supervises
three (3) full-time staff members.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Manage and lead full-time, part-time and intern team members in the development and implementation of individual sport marketing plans designed to increase attendance, drive ticket sales revenue and improve overall game presentation.
Develop a comprehensive marketing plan integrating traditional and nontraditional media.
Collaborate with the ticket office to effectively utilize marketing resources to reach ticket sales revenue goals in all areas.
Develop a master calendar of ticketing, including ticket design/functionality, ticketing website development, season ticket holder renewal process, student on-sale promotions, rules/regulations/procedures, and customer facing aspects of ticketing.
Develop a comprehensive plan and calendar to effectively communicate with season ticket holders for all sports.
Partner with other Athletic department and non-Athletic department units to effectively market Grizzly Sports and communicate with key stakeholders.
Collaborate with Grizzly Sports Properties to help facilitate incremental corporate sales while protecting the integrity of the unique Grizzly collegiate brand.
Oversee the game-day sponsor fulfillment: game-day promotion, on-court/field promotions, game-day messaging of sponsorships and promotions.
Oversee the operation and maintenance of athletic homepage in conjunction with Athletic communications department.
Develop and lead the execution of a forward thinking and strategic social media plan that includes short term and long term goals.
Collaborate with Grizzly Academic Advising to promote and document all student-athlete community service aspects of Grizzly Athletics.
Monitor and fill all donation requests on behalf of Grizzly Athletics.
Develop and implement the annual marketing budget.
Through collaboration with the external operations team, lead the creative vision for the department, including overseeing the video content ideation and production team.
Oversee and manage various committees in the department, including but not limited to the Griz Fan Advisory Board and the Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
Represent Grizzly Athletics on various campus committees.
Serve as the community relations liaison, responsible for developing and managing outreach and public relations programs.
Manage the Griz brand, including monitoring and approving quality of content produced and products purchased.
Collaborate with Licensing Director on campus to ensure licensed vendors are used and Griz marks are used appropriately.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Athletic Director and Sr. Associate Athletics Director for External Operations.
Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all times to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Montana University System Contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications
Minimum Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven (7) years of college athletics/marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or advanced degree
Experience in a Division I college athletic program
