Description

The Associate Director, Project Management manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. The Associate Director, Project Management requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

Responsibilities

Location: work at home

The Associate Director, Project Management designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project. They will monitor progress and performance against the project plan while taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. The Associate Director is responsible for assessing, leading and managing the successful end to end projects by driving cross-divisional and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of the targeted goals and timelines. You will be responsible for leading a team of project managers. The Associate Director will effectively achieve project objectives and defined business requirements through exceptional project management. Prepares, designs, and develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for Project and Program Management of strategic initiatives for our Clinical Operations and Home Solutions organizations

Direct leader of 6-8 Project Managers

Individually program manages large scale enterprise initiatives for senior leaders

Ownership of the organization's Project Delivery Approach, its implementation, establishment and iteration

Work with the business to determine appropriate project prioritization

Provide timely, accurate and relevant project and portfolio reporting as agreed

Track project benefits realization and lessons learnt activities to feed into on-going improvements

Responsible for mentoring and coaching the PMO and business project teams to effectively implement the Project Delivery Approach

Set standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used, etc.

Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed

Interface with senior leaders to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges, and keep them up-to-date with project risks and opportunities

Role Essentials

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

7 years of experience with program and/or project management

2 years of management experience

Ability to manage and motivate virtual or matrix project teams as well as the PMO

Experience managing business partner relationships at all levels of the organization

Ability to balance different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure

Experience of resource planning against the prioritized portfolio of projects and ability to work with the PMO and business to manage projects

Ability to monitor and report on project status across the portfolio at stakeholder levels

Highly motivated self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and direction

Strong interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills

Comfortable with coordinating and collaborating with business teams to drive required decisions and outcomes

Cross-functional relationship building is paramount. The role must be able to successfully work with and influence individuals not directly under their control
