Position Responsibilities:
Accountable for positioning Bristol Myers Squibb digital business priorities for the Digital Clinical Innovation & Alliance Management:
Serves as the IT Business Partner Lead for the BMS Digital Clinical Innovation and Alliance Management.
Lead and accelerate digitization through technology innovation, ensure the digital capabilities are reliable, accessible and secure, and enable competitively differentiation in a rapidly changing landscape.
Drives the development of an actionable multi-year strategic digital strategy and capability roadmaps, informed and prioritized by business and IT in an enterprise context. Prioritizes the portfolio appropriately and is accountable for the overall portfolio budget management.
Leads the development of strong and clear business cases for digital capability investments in support of the roadmap and aligned with the platform strategy. Defines, measures, & achieves business outcomes for highest value digital capabilities.
Brings an external view by actively maintaining awareness of external drivers in the business domain and relevant technology trends.
Understands where BMS should be competitively differentiated through technology, translates business needs into specific business requirements, sees realistic opportunities for IT to add more value, and balances this with a pragmatic understanding of fitness for purpose.
Provide functional strategic leadership and influence:
Builds strong partnerships with senior leaders in the business and IT
Influences the strategic thinking of senior business leaders and leans in to help business leaders to include future innovative digital capabilities into their planning.
Establishes an effective working relationship with all relevant business leaders, is deeply involved with key business activities and innovation forums, and takes full accountability for delivering the value proposition of IT.
Drives change through effective planning, execution and communication of business change management to support digital capability investments and value realization. Accountable for ensuring an effective change management plan is in place for their individual projects.
Nurture design thinking and digital innovation culture that embraces the change.
Leverages the matrix to get things done:
Advocates the IT operating model and understands the business partner accountabilities throughout the plan/build/run cycle and builds trusting partnerships with IT delivery teams at all levels.
Constructively advocates for value by ensuring IT has the right balance of trade-offs between speed, quality and cost.
Connects and educates the business stakeholders on the broader IT capabilities and services.
Communicates successes and issues accurately, urgently, and to the right audience, and takes responsibility for resolution and management of expectations across stakeholders.
Leads with urgency, courage, tenacity and respect to initiate uncomfortable conversations in order to remove roadblocks to value delivery.
Desired Experience:
Required:
Strong domain expertise of the Digital Health and technology landscape to drive business value, including a broad understanding of business processes for Clinical Trial operations and Alliance Management (Clinical Trial Business Partnerships).
Track record of leading the analysis of complex and ambiguous business needs and integrating those into compelling and actionable strategic plans and investment business cases with global reach and impact.
Track record of delivering short-term, high-value innovative pilot projects within timelines and budget.
Demonstrated commitment to creative thinking and applying innovative technologies to use cases, in achieving a balance between pragmatic value and transformation.
Proven ability to drive efficiencies and strategic synergies across IT functions and platforms.
8 years of relevant industry experience coupled with digital innovation experience or experience working in a digital health strategy or digital health innovation organization.
Bachelor's degree or higher with a focus on computer science or Information Technology preferred.
Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:
Experience of exploring, identifying, assessing and driving new digital clinical innovation opportunities and working with Digital Innovation partners to ensure maximum value and effectiveness.
Seasoned direct and matrix management skills, with a particular emphasis on energizing and developing talent.
Working knowledge of agile methodologies applied to SDLC and IT services.
