Description
The Director, Technology Risk Management is responsible for developing and managing effective technology risk management processes and for performing technology risk assessments across Humana. This involves directing the development of governance and risk management programs, including managing the risk framework, managing governance committees, and operating risk processes like exceptions and risk acceptances. This role requires significant experience in managing major risk programs, a keen ability to distill complex risk information for presentation to senior executives, expert judgement, and capacity to deliver organization-wide change through highly effective leadership.
Responsibilities
The Director, Technology Risk Management is responsible for developing and operating major first line technology risk management processes, and leading the identification and assessment of technology risks across the organization. This includes leading a team responsible for managing exceptions, risk acceptances, identifying material technology risks, and performing deep dive assessments into key risk areas. The leader will apply disciplinary knowledge of risk management practices and technology domains to deliver organizational change and rigorous evaluations. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. The leader will have significant impact in day-to-day operations by influencing decisions through risk mitigation.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Develop and operate risk management practices to ensure effective and efficient governance of key risk areas.
Identify high-risk areas and lead delivery of risk assessments to surface gaps and drive remediation.
Build and deliver effective communications to senior executives to enable oversight and effective risk decisions.
Contribute to board reporting and compliance activities, providing an independent understanding of Humana's risk environment.
Ensure development of appropriate action plans to address identified risks, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner to effectively address the issues.
Communicate trends in risks, issues and opportunities to senior leadership based on the results of ongoing assessments.
Manage a team, ensuring effective team development, coaching, and performance management.
Raise the technical knowledge of the team by developing and implementing a comprehensive training plan.
Build, direct, counsel, and coach teams assigned to various engagements and review assessment plan, findings and reports for sufficient scope and for accuracy.
Identify and pursue opportunities to leverage technology solutions to improve efficiency and depth of program outcomes.
Engage daily with senior executives to assess the intent of major programs, the business value they're expected to deliver, and associated risks
What Do You Need To Succeed
Must-Have
Bachelors Degree
Minimum 8 years of experience managing complex programs
Minimum 5 years of in-depth technical or risk programs
Deep knowledge of Agile and traditional program management methodologies
Expert judgement and ability lead large teams
Ability to refine complex information and present it to senior executives to drive decision-making
Nice-to-Have
Six sigma certification
Security and risk management certifications
Metrics and report development experience
Skills And Knowledge
Leadership skills and ability drive complex programs to a successful conclusion
In-depth knowledge of project and program management practices and capacity to identify associated risks, including budget management.
Technology and technology risk assessment skills (e.g. cloud technologies, IT operations, data center services, storage & databases, server virtualization, cybersecurity operations, data privacy).
Knowledge of US regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud technologies, information technology operations, data governance, and data privacy.
Advanced ability to translate technical and program issues into non-technical explanation such that the non-technical report reader can easily grasp the issue.
Ability to work in a dynamically changing environment and leading people through modernization from traditional assessments to focus on data analytics.
Experience in managing large, highly complex or strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole.
Ability to influence a wide variety of senior executives in enterprise wide groups.
Experience with identifying the risks associated with new services and/or routines, products and to formulate practical audit procedures to adequately monitor new risk and ensure adherence to limits.
Experience interpreting data extracted from advanced analytics (e.g. use of data visualization and reporting).
