This Product Manager role requires technical product management and/or application development platform experience to effectively manage features or products within the Engineering Productivity product team. The ideal candidate will identify and understand customer needs across a variety of internal and external customer types, create a technology product strategy, build product roadmaps, and prioritize work for at least one Agile development team. You will interact with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders within Best Buy to keep them informed and aligned regarding your product vision and roadmap. This person will get energy from how technology intersects to solve real-world customer problems and enabling our employees to best serve our customers across channels.

Key responsibilities

Drive the collection and analysis of feedback from internal application development teams

Provide process performance data on application delivery while finding ways to instrument existing and to-be-created components of the application delivery value stream to provide process performance data

Analyze product performance through qualitative and quantitative analysis tools and processes

Analyze those data sets to better understand and document internal customer needs

Craft a product vision for product(s) with minimal supervision that demonstrates an understanding of the product goals and organizational needs. Connect BestBuy's broader strategic vision to your own product and product vision.

Translate business needs into customer goals and features and ensure product strategies, roadmaps, and product features are delivered against core customer value propositions that align with Best Buy’s strategic vision.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, user experience (UX) teams, program managers, and other relevant Digital & Technology partners to drive superior customer experiences

Collaborate with other product teams to execute cross-cutting strategies across teams and/or products

Lead an Agile delivery team to execute delivery of the roadmap, with minimal guidance or supervision

Evangelize the product strategy, vision, and roadmap across the organization

Interact with key software vendors to help influence their product direction to better suit BestBuy’s needs

Knowledge of product practices such as OKRs, Journey Mapping and others that extract customer needs clearly and concisely for infusion into the product delivery goals

Required Qualifications

2 years of relevant Product Management experience as a Product Manager, or equivalent experience

1 year of relevant experience in strategy creation, customer-focused solutions, cross-functional leadership, etc.

1 year of indirect team management/leadership/work direction

Track record of product roadmap execution; completing and shipping excellent products that deliver clear results

Ability to articulate clear and concise specifications for new products and new features

Ability to prioritize features based on multiple inputs, including competitive analysis, industry trends, emerging technologies, company vision, and customer data

Proven ability to consistently align a software development team, with rapid development cycles, to product objectives/goals

Proven ability to influence cross-functionally without formal authority

Ability to set objectives and measure results focusing on customer needs and business strategy

Familiarity with financial concepts and financial/budget management

Fosters an inclusive work environment valuing diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

Product management of platform or engineering tools experience (Cloud Native and/or e-Commerce applications)

Experience working in retail selling environments and associated systems

Technical aptitude to understand complex architectural diagrams and data flows

Experience setting OKRs and associated measurement plans to communicate value creation
