The Associate VP, AVP, Health Equity & Community Engagement Business Operations and Market Integration leader develops the organization's strategic direction and coordination of health care equity to reduce or eliminate health disparities. The Associate VP, requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.

Against that backdrop, we are seeking an accomplished leader to join our Health Equity & Community Engagement team in the role of Associate Vice President, Business Operations and Market Integration. In this role, you will drive population health related business operations, governance, expansion and optimization of health equity and social needs efforts into Humana markets, bids and pilots. This leader will create evidence based, scalable and financially sustainable solutions which target health conditions with demonstrated health disparities, access issues, as well as structural and social determinants of health, creating a direct link between social impact and positive business results.
The AVP will be responsible for managing market growth and leading the charge for an impact assessment of Health Equity (HE) products on company performance. Success in this role requires overcoming the speed of adoption and efficiently integrating health equity solutions, including strategies that address social and structural drivers of health, into the operating model. The AVP will need to have established and strong relationships with direct access to leadership in all of Humana's primary business segments, including Retail, Healthy Horizons/Medicaid, Clinical Solutions, Pharmacy, Home and the Primary Care Organization. The AVP will guide and counsel on the prioritization of Health Equity in other Lines of Businesses (LOBs). The position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Serve as primary business owner responsible for scaling, expanding, improving and leading efforts to integrate health equity related drivers, including access, social, structural and other drivers of health, into Humana lines of business and into growing markets
Lead a diverse team that creates a continuum of operational success in health equity and social needs, from concept development to pilot validation and subsequent integration into Humana business through market enablement
Drive enterprise-wide efforts to humanize retail benefits design and bid innovations that position Humana as a market leader in health equity
Drive increased customer engagement, retention, and growth by creating first in class health equity and population health products, platforms and member benefits
Develop and drive strategic efforts to advance population health and health equity at business, local, state and national levels as a thought leader
Lead efforts to integrate health equity priorities into Humana's primary business segments, including health insurance and Centerwell healthcare services, identifying, measuring and articulating the business value to each segment
Lead opportunity and impact assessments of HE products on company performance
Contribute meaningfully to Humana market and membership growth through conceptualizing and implementing strategies to make Humana bids, offerings, Medicaid and other market RFPs and services exceptionally strong in health equity related content and impact
Lead co-creation of business operations and market integration dashboard, working in full partnership with Humana leaders and operators
Understand and be responsive to the needs of market based leadership and teams and develop a robust framework for bidirectional sharing and learning
Work as appropriate with key stakeholders including external community partners to co-create solutions that empower markets and Humana membership
Predict, understand and mitigate risks related to Humana market-level operations and business efforts
Have and maintain deep understanding of market related forces, company related forces and how they both interplay
Ability to serve as a consultant, facilitator, communicator, coach, influencer and bridge builder bidirectionally from HE and the broader enterprise
Clear and methodical decision-making capabilities with the ability to engineer workflows and solutions with precision, accuracy and efficiency
Work closely with the Health Equity & Community Engagement combined leadership team, including the AVP for strategic implementation, to ensure alignment of efforts across the larger department and in line with the HECE strategy
Required Qualifications :
5- 7 years of successfully leading market level product and service integration * Expert collaboration expertise and track record of working across various lines of business
Ability to develop a high-performing, results-driven environment that encourages team members to achieve high standards
High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
History of leading impactful, diverse and both mission and business-oriented teams
Industry leader that provides expertise and thought leadership to ensure Humana's competitive advantage as a leading health equity focused health & wellness organization
Demonstrated success in achieving enterprise level goals at the market level, with success translating those achievements into business level priorities and focus areas
Ability to travel as needed for better understanding of business and market needs
Track record of measuring and monitoring social, financial, business, operational and clinical impact of decisions and programs
Strong communication skills- written and verbal, with the ability to represent Humana at local, regional, state, national and management team level
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a business, operations or healthcare related field
Travel
