SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to breeder departments to maximize the production of fertile hatching eggs in an economical manner and optimize chick cost.
Other duties include: assess pullet and breeder management programs husbandry and housing as well as hatchery management practices to maximize the production of the highest quality and most cost-competitive baby chicks in the industry; conduct relevant research and field trials to introduce new products or methods to improve efficiency.
Other responsibilities include: provide technical assistance to Breeder Managers and their Service Technicians as well as Hatchery Managers and hatchery personnel; analyze performance data and carry out field trials to identify nutritional or management related opportunities; train field service representatives; any other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: PhD in Poultry Science or equivalent combination of education and experience; Breeder Husbandry and Hatchery experience preferred
Experience: 3 plus years of experience with a PhD; 10 plus years experience with other education level; broiler breeder husbandry and hatchery operation preferred
Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills.
Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Ability to perform statistical analysis.
Supervisory: None
Travel: 30 or more domestic trips per year
