JOB OVERVIEW
UC's Evaluation Services Center (UCESC) is seeking a new Director to lead the team's efforts around data and evidence-based research to change lives, systems, and communities. UCESC is uniquely qualified to perform evaluation, research, and assessment services, partnering on over 600 evaluation and research projects (30-40 projects annually) in the fields of public health, education, and related human services at local, state, regional, and national levels. State-of-the-art facilities and technology at UCESC support the work of highly qualified specialists who possess masters and doctoral degrees in research, education, or related fields as well as support staff, university faculty, and graduate and undergraduate students.
This position has a planned compensation of $100,000 depending of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Responsible for development, implementation and administration of goals to achieve strategic objectives; assume management responsibility for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations and/or corporate relations with which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact and influence service delivery on a division, campus or university level. *Formulate, recommend, approve and implement policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to increase internal business and/or external corporate partnerships and advance service levels; responsible for policy execution and results that enrich the department/center, the campus and the university; formulate, approve and communicate major policy changes affecting other departments; authority to grant exceptions. Participate in cross-functional policy development. *Responsible for coordinating a function or program(s) in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on external relations. *Responsible for collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units (i.e., Public Relations, Academic Colleges, Foundation, etc.) to enhance business/community partnerships. *Develop, implement and monitor department/center budget; authority for budget, revenue and expense planning and approving expenditure; has signature authority as accountable officer for programs or functions within department or center; serves as department business administration officer and reports on budget status to AVP level. *Prepare reports, disseminate/interpret information, provide advice, write proposals, deliver presentations, construct contractual agreements, and ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations. *Communicate and assist students, parents, corporate partners resolve questions and complex issues; represent the university internally and externally. *Provide administrative leadership and supervision to managers, professionals and support staff; hire, orient, train, mentor and evaluate assigned staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. *Serve on various university, division and departmental committees and represent the department at various state and national associations. *
Perform related duties based on departmental need.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree with five (5) years experience; -OR-Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR- Associate's degree with nine (9) year's experience; -OR- eleven (11) years experience. Experience must be related to areas of responsibilities.

*An earned doctorate in evaluation, research methodology, education, or social science *Experience leading and supervising high-functioning, autonomous professionals, building a strong team culture, and promoting professional growth and learning *Experience in cultivating strong partnerships, developing new business, and leading with an entrepreneurial mindset *Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams (faculty, staff, administration) within the context of a higher education institution *Candidates who have leadership experience at the executive level, preferably in higher education, and have experience representing an organization with a collaborative, customer-oriented disposition are especially encouraged to apply. *Strong skills in program and policy evaluation with experience in developing, coordinating, and executing evaluations in education and/or human services *Experience obtaining and managing projects funded through grants and contracts *Experience and ability to provide financial planning, to oversee the budget, and to develop and implement operating procedures *Strong organizational skills with attention to detail *Ability to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues, clients, and peers *Experience working on and leading teams with a willingness to welcome new ideas and change *Prior experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation in the context of national, state, or local P-12, community college, and university educational systems is desirable. *Candidates whose academic credentials include program evaluation, actively participate in evaluation-oriented professional organizations, and who have experience with organizational management are especially encouraged to apply. *Strong writing skills, particularly in the presentation of research/evaluation findings to non-technical and scholarly audiences *Excellent oral communication and presentation skills, in both small and large formats *Excellent computer skills; expertise using Excel, SPSS, MAXQDA or other statistical analysis programs
