Fraternity and Sorority Involvement Program Manager
to join their team. This position coordinates the activities of fraternity and sorority chapters at the University of Montana. This position serves as the advisor to the various chapters, councils, and committees. The Program Manager is expected to manage all resources of fraternity and sorority program by managing daily operations, formulating policies, and planning use of materials and human resources. The Program Manager is responsible for strategic planning, development of short- and long-term goals, oversight of human and financial resources, and supervising other personnel. This position reports to the Director of Campus Engagement under the University Center organization. The scope of the position frequently requires attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, meetings, seminars, and workshops.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Promote a positive profile of the fraternity and sorority community by providing overall advisement, training, and support of the recognized social fraternities and sororities on campus.
Assist in establishing and/or maintaining the position of the fraternity and sorority community within the collegial environment by ensuring their understanding of and compliance with all University policies, UM Community Standards, Mutual Agreement, as well as municipal, state, and federal laws.
Address fraternity and sorority judicial matters as necessary, assist the Office of Community Standards, and communicate with UM police.
Provide positive guidance and mentoring for student members of the fraternity and sorority community by developing a collaborative relationship with and supporting faculty and staff advisors, alumni advisors, volunteers, and general headquarters staff.
Provide regular feedback to fraternity and sorority chapters by administering the annual feedback meetings and fraternity and sorority life awards processes.
Coordinate educational programming related to leadership, risk management, etc., including the annual fraternity and sorority life leadership retreat.
Coordinate annual fraternity and sorority recruitment.
Develop a cooperative relationship with alumni advisors and general headquarters by working with them on individual chapter matters.
Manage financial resources, within budget limits, in accordance with University guidelines.
Supervise staff member(s), graduate assistant(s), and/or student worker(s).
Assist in establishing and continuing a cooperative relationship between the fraternity and sorority community, Missoula, and University communities by facilitating the governing mutual agreement, serving necessary committees, serving as a liaison and communicating planned student activities to the fraternity and sorority life leadership and encouraging their participation.
Ensure that the goals and objectives of Fraternity and Sorority Involvement and its programs are included in the annual goals and objectives for the office of Student Life and Activities.
As a member of Student Life and Activities, serve as a general advisor to all student life coordinators and the overall success of its programs and activities.
Promote a positive image of the University by assisting Student Life and Activities in the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of events and leadership programs and assists with other staff-initiated programs.
Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses.
Support the overall operation of the University Center and contributes to the department’s success by performing all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Minimum Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated experience with student leadership programming, organizational development, initiating, event planning, executing, and assessing student programs and services, and measuring student outcomes is required. Experience incorporating multi-cultural and multi-perspective experiences for students that need to succeed in a global, broadly diverse society is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with social Greek letter organizations in an advisory or leadership capacity.
Bachelor’s degree in educational administration, college student personnel, or other related field.
At least one (1) year of direct advisory experience with student organizations.
