As the chief operations officer for six clinical divisions, several research programs and a central administration group, the DA ensures operational effectiveness and financial integrity throughout ZSFG Psychiatry’s units and community based programs. \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eWorking with the Vice Chair for ZSFG Psychiatry, the DA will develop business plans for alternative sources of clinical revenues, and will work with ZSFG leadership and clinical providers to execute these plans. As ZSFG Psychiatry is a hybrid of UCSF employees and City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) employees and managers, all working together as a highly integrated clinical team, the DA plays a critical role along with the Vice Chair for ZSFG Psychiatry, ZSFG Medical Center administration and the City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Health, to deliver cost effective and quality healthcare as the City’s safety net provider. The DA supports the efforts of the Vice Chair for ZSFG Psychiatry to acquire the financial resources needed to support the teaching, patient care, research, and public service endeavors of the unit and to expand programs. The Department’s mission is research (basic, translational, clinical), teaching, patient care and public service. The Department has an organizational structure that crosses all major UCSF sites – Parnassus, Mission Bay, Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG), San Francisco Veterans Administration Health System (SFVAHS), and Laurel Heights. The Department is large and administratively complex.
