The Associate Director, Data Use Protection Engineering Innovation develops and implements technical controls to protect sensitive data across the organization. Data Use and Protection Engineering represents the intersection of cybersecurity, data analytics, software engineering, legal, risk, and compliance.

What You'll Do:

You will lead a team to develop principled data 'Privacy by design' solutions based on guidance, operational processes, and infrastructure and automation tools that enable product and engineering teams to embed our data protection principles from the outset to meet growing compliance and user trust demands, without compromising speed and innovation. This role requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across departments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Work to align advanced technologies and Privacy by Design principles into innovative solutions that engage the initial stages of software development to ensure that the data use meets established regulatory and compliance needs

Drive the innovation development of solutions to ensure data use policies are correctly implemented. The innovations will ensure the compliance of the use while supporting the business processes reliant on the data and support the organization in delivering 'Privacy by design' solutions.

Partner with product and engineering teams to deliver innovative data solutions including data tagging, data anonymization, pseudonymization, tokenization, and encryption to develop systems that preserve and improve data protections.

Manage a team of architects, developers, and engineers who work with our product and engineering teams though out development to ensure that the data collection and usage practices are transparent, protect user privacy, and mitigate risk.

Required Qualifications

2 or more years of management experience

6 or more years' technical experience in a combination of Software Engineering, Data Analytics, and/or Cyber Security

Experience driving technology innovation in a highly matrixed organization

Ability to effectively work with, develop relationships, and collaborate across stakeholders

Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.

Demonstrated working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals

Understanding of design for software applications running on multiple platforms

Preferred Qualifications

Experience or understanding of software applications design tools and languages

Masters' Degree in a Technical Field

Data literacy: finding and managing data, cleansing data, manipulating data

Security Certifications
