SUMMARY

Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Treasury Manager for its office in Anchorage, AK. The Treasury Manager is responsible for corporate liquidity,

investments

, and

risk management

related to the company's financial activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are

not

intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

Actively manage liquidity by overseeing the cash flow process, including the forecasting of cash flow projections, preparation and review of cash flow actuals, and variance analysis.

Monitor daily cash positions, deposit, savings and investment accounts, incoming transactions and disbursements.

Develop, implement, and audit policies and procedures to ensure necessary controls for all treasury activities including cash management, online banking, payment systems, and cash receipts.

Develop effective analytics and reporting tools that reflect best practices and communication to key stakeholders.

Work with department and managers to optimize cash flows to vendors with favorable terms, discounts and rebates.

Collaborate with operations team to develop cash flow needs for bidding and project financing purposes.

Monitor, analyze and report on investment activities.

Work with other departments to establish controls and budgets for capital projects and asset purchases. 

Oversee compliance with debt covenants, loan programs and other bank requirements.

Ensure timely and proper capitalization and distributions from subsidiaries and investments. 

Maintain relationships with bank, financing and investment partners.

Oversee the extension of credit to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other relevant work experience.

5 years of treasury or similar type experience.

Prior experience with bank and debt markets.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Ability to understand and analyze financial statements, including cash flows.

Strong analytical and excel skills required.

Experience with various types of investments preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Alaska Native Corporations

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
