Profile

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for collaboratively creating and tactically executing the communications strategy for Thompson Coe.

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for collaboratively creating and tactically executing the communications strategy for Thompson Coe. The responsibilities for this position include public relations, website management, and digital strategy. A successful candidate will have contacts with legal media outlets, understand strategic messaging, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a demanding environment.

Essential Functions and Duties

Write, distribute, and promote press releases to the appropriate outlets.

Develop and execute firm editorial strategies and maintain content calendars received from prominent industry publications.

Maintain existing and establish new relationships with media to field interview requests and pitch stories.

Develop best practices for communications to ensure the Firm is presented consistently and professionally.

Proactively work with attorneys and section heads on guest publishing opportunities.

Develop a standardized template for print and electronic materials in collaboration with the department.

Manage Firm social media presence across all digital channels.

Brainstorm new and creative digital growth and content repurposing strategies.

Maintain and update marketing materials as needed.

Responsible for website content generation and user experience through optimization and proper metadata tagging.

Qualifications

Excellent writing and grammar skills.

BA/BS degree in Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or related field.

5-7 years of experience in a Legal Marketing Communications role developing content.

Must have basic computer skills and be familiar with certain programs/platforms (Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Suite, WordPress, On24, Meltwater, Grammarly).

Strong attention to detail.

Required Knowledge and Skills

5-7 years of experience with digital marketing preferred.

Experience in graphic design.

Experience in data analytics preferred.

Self-starter who works independently and in a team environment.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with a service mentality.

Must provide a writing and graphic design sample before an interview.
