The Senior Director of Business Development Analytics is responsible for the execution and delivery of best-in-class analytics and commercial assessment of all potential assets, programs, markets, and collaborations being considered by BMS. Primary objective is to effectively partner with senior leaders in Business Development, Corporate Strategy, Commercial and R&D in the strategic framing, due diligence, and fit-for-purpose analytics that drives data-driven investment decisions.

Roles & Responsibilities

•Serve as the lead and primary point of contact for all business development analytics activities for the business (VPs of Business Development, Corporate Strategy, WW Commercial, R&D, and FAMA).

•Serve as EA representative at relevant business development governance meetings.

•Establish and maintain a Center of Excellence and Best Practices for business development analytics including but not limited to: forecasting methods, market assessments, epidemiology modeling, peer group assessments, and qualitative and quantitative valuation approaches for early science.

•Maintain an ongoing understanding of market dynamics, changing competitive landscape, macro environment and industry trends and their impact on the BMS portfolio and long-term strategy. Effectively communicate these assessments at relevant governance interactions with senior leadership.

•Create and drive effective partnerships with Strategic Area leads to ensure business development is a core part of their strategy and effectively utilized in their strategic plan.

•Create and drive effective partnership with the business development organization to ensure appropriate and timely application of fit-for-purpose analytics that drive transparency and understanding of the commercial potential of assets in due diligence. Responsible for the effective communication of the same.

•Lead and manage the business development analytics team of 3 full-time employees and two consultants. Attract, develop and maintain a high performing team.

Requirements

•7-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, consulting, or investment banking space.

•Highly proficient in analytical techniques including forecasting, asset valuations, financial modeling (DCF, LBO)

•Scientific and market knowledge of Oncology, Immunoscience and Neuroscience highly desirable.

•Strong presentation and consulting skills, evidence of successful engagement with C-level executives.

•Advance degree required (MBA, PhD)
