Job Summary
The Academy is the overarching program that drives learning, development, upskilling, and culture initiatives for the Sales, Marketing and Product (SMP) organization. The person that will succeed in this role will be a skilled relationship builder with a passion for elevating the employee experience. He or she will have the ability work independently, but also have the skill to influence others when additional resources or support are required. He or she will easily partner with multiple different teams to assess their needs and areas of opportunity. This person will feel comfortable formulating strategy and being deep in execution. This person will have solid executive presence given that he or she will work closely with SMP executive leadership as well as Human Resources, ULearn, Talent and other teams within the Xfinity eco-system. This Director should have the innate ability to inspire and motivate teams to embrace opportunities, while fostering a culture that demands learning, development and career growth opportunities.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Develop strategy for the Academy curriculum and broad initiatives across the SMP organization. This includes identifying sessions that would appeal to all employees, regardless of level, tenure or function and the end-to-end execution of those events. These sessions need to be at a regular weekly cadence and support specific areas of focus, as directed by Chief Marketing Officer and the senior leadership team.
Develop strategy and execution plan for targeted initiatives across SMP organization. This includes identifying opportunities that may fill a need, a skill gap or drive career growth and development within individual teams or at specific levels.
Identify and connect with agencies, outsider speakers and business people in various industries to serve as 'teachers' or to offer insights on best practices, future trends, leadership skills, etc.
Create new programs that encourage and help foster career growth and development for individuals within the SMP team or in partnership with other Xfinity teams. This could include creating and supporting a job swap program or encouraging gig opportunities to allow talent to move easily between teams, projects and leaders for greater exposure and experience.
Serve as lead for various committees that focus on employee satisfaction, onboarding new employees, team philanthropy and other needs as they arise. This includes bringing together various teammates from across the SMP organization to identify common goals, how to best serve the broader team and how to execute programs that will enhance the employee experience.
Plan culture-building events as needed, including large scale events like the annual SMP Awards and supporting team philanthropic focused efforts.
Manage relationship and leverage opportunities with external partners and associations. This includes maximizing our membership investment and ensuring employees are engaged with the value that the partners provide.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
