Profile

ADP is hiring a Senior Director, Application Development/ML&AI

Are you a passionate technologist that is interested in unique challenges in application development at scale?

Are you an inspiring leader who people have followed and worked for over and over again?

Are you looking to join a dynamic, inclusive team environment with a culture of collaboration and belonging?

Well, this may be the role for you. Ready to design what's next?

In this role, you will work in an Agile development environment leading a team of experienced developers and data scientists to bring the designs and ideas to life for new or improved products, web applications and implementation tools leveraging ML/AI to optimize processes and increase efficiencies. This work will support a mix of internal and external clients. You will be working on current and upcoming projects that connect design, engineering, product development, and implementation to deliver best in class solutions. You'll share your operational and process maturity with a growing team while building the world's largest HCM software platform.

No two days are the same as you work with your team, business leaders, and product management to understand our next wave of work. To thrive in this role, you'll need to have a solid understanding of technologies, ML/AI, APIs, distributed systems design, operational scaling and availability, and application integrations in a hybrid on premise/cloud environment. Like our best developers, you are an enthusiastic creator eager to learn. You strive to learn new technologies and find ways to incorporate what you learn into building your products to drive business results.

You're a passionate leader focused on engagement as well as results, and you're not afraid to roll your sleeves up and dive into problem solving when necessary. As part of our team, you'll find exciting challenges, get opportunities to grow your career, and develop solid friendships as we design what's next for ADP and the industry.

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

You will work with your partners in product management as a team to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate priorities that will deliver the optimal business results. You must know Agile well.

Your years of team leadership have delivered amazing results, and you pride yourself on developing the people who work for you, as well as providing an inclusive team environment where they all can thrive. If asked, they would follow you anywhere and enthusiastically credit you with helping to grow their careers.

Working in sprints, you must ensure teams keep up with timelines and coding standards. You'll be looking ahead to anticipate changing business requirements and to service technical debt that will arise.

Continuous Learning. An eagerness to learn will help you keep up with ever-changing technologies and market trends, and maintain the ability to create the best tools for our clients. You are comfortable and thrive in an autonomous role since that will be essential for your success.

You'll work with business leadership and project management to understand priorities, rolling out and adoption of features, and create accountability accordingly, and you will work with external partners to innovate and discover new ways of doing business.

You will present and defend your team's approach to leadership. There is no typical day as you partner and work with people across the development organization to turn ideas into reality.
