This role is responsible to support the development and execution of the global Sales, Development, and Operations Planning (SD&OP) process.
The position will have direct reports.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design and coordinate the SD&OP process globally and provide input & guidance on regional set-ups
Manage the supply and demand balance using a structured SD&OP process. Provide transparency to the organization on constraints, opportunities, etc.
Work with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve key issues and imbalances. Topics may include production capacity, logistics, equipment or carrier availability, forecast deviations, raw material supply issues, etc.
Align demand forecast (vs business plan, revised forecast plan, and actual sales) relative to critical materials inventory and production capabilities
Prepare monthly SD&OP meeting materials using cross functional input& facilitate the meeting. This includes preparation for executive S&OP
Collaborate with manufacturing sites on pre-SD&OP reviews to ensure timely supply of product and track actual vs. plan
Generate inventory projections and other KPIs and reports for S&OP purposes
Provide primary point of contact for day-to-day decision-making and elevation/resolution of issues relating to supply and inventory for cell therapy products
Escalate business critical decisions points to management
Identify opportunities and support the creation of new business processes as required
Lead cross-functional projects and convene cross-functional meetings to resolve issues
Partner with other stakeholders to create and implement best practices
Participate, where needed, in the scale-up and commercialization of new products and lifecycle management efforts
Establish, manage and track supply and demand metrics, including:
Develop and manage appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement
Improve the systems, tools and capabilities within the organization pertaining to Sales, Development, and Operations Planning.
Manage the supply process by compiling appropriate capacity parameters to assess manufacturing capabilities to meet demand projections
Partner with Global Supply Planning on the monthly production volume plan using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders, and the defined capacity parameters
Supply Chain Analytics:
Develop and maintain tools to provide transparency and single source of truth across functional areas to ensure alignment and optimal results
Work closely with sourcing and supply planning teams on demand and inventory management execution to provide insights, recommendations and solutions to the business
Continue to develop and implement strategic planning tools and enhance/improve the current Supply Chain system reporting structure
Ensure strong collaborative relationship within Supply Chain and externally with Commercial and Clinical Operations to consistently elevate the quality of thinking and ideas applied to the business
Responsible for data integrity of the key databases for KPI accuracy and analysis of an organization's business goals (SCM KPIs) and what factors will contribute to or impede the ability to obtain those goals; based on analysis, make recommendations on how to overcome factors impeding goals
Plan and manage projects according to the specifications and deadlines
Provide analysis to drive business decisions
Skills/Knowledge Required:
8 to 10 years of overall relevant experience. 3-5-yrs of plant or supply chain planning/scheduling experience preferred
Experience in Sales and Operations Planning required
Minimum bachelor's degree with a background in Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering. Advanced degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or MBA strongly preferred
Minimum of 2-yrs of supervisory experience is preferred. Previous experience mentoring/guiding/training other supply chain team members required
Prior experience interacting with production, marketing, demand planning, pharmaceutical quality and regulatory organizations
Prior experience planning in a multiple manufacturing site and/or contract manufacturing environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Hands-on team leader and team player willing to work in an environment where individual initiative, accountability, and professional maturity are required
Must have strong analytical skills
Able to synthesize information into a presentation appropriate to the organizational-level of the audience. Able to summarize information concisely and communicate it using appropriate medium
Must be able to work with limited day-to-day supervision.
Strong PC experience, Microsoft Office Suite experience required including; Excel; Outlook; PowerPoint
Oracle EBS / Advance Supply Chain Planning or SAP experience required.
APICS certification is a plus.
