Job Description:
The Director of Program Management will drive program management activities for the Energy Platform ecosystem, which includes the Energy Platform team as well as its partners including energy asset aggregators, platform vendors, and software application development teams that support or build on the Energy Platform. This senior leader will build, oversee, develop and optimize a growing function made up of dedicated program management professionals as well as matrixed personnel from central Shell functions and portfolio companies. Responsibilities include:
Nurture growth of a high-performing program management team
Team – nurture the program management function within the Energy Platform team
Culture – nurture an empathetic team culture based on respect, collaboration, equal opportunity, and recognition of strong contributions
Collaboration – work closely and align principles, tools and techniques with Shell Product Owners and development teams across Shell Energy Platform ecosystem
Recruiting – proactively recruit exceptional talent, maintaining a rich pipeline of talent to quickly bring onto the team
Professional development – proactively motivate, develop and retain talent, maintaining a deep talent bench and developing team capabilities needed to succeed
Process – nurture embrace of best practices in agile program management, product portfolio management, lean management, multi-track agile, and associated processes to support delivery of outstanding product quality, agility, and velocity
Drive program managements’ leadership and facilitation of the Energy Platform ecosystem product portfolio management approach
Continuously improve holistic product portfolio management approach
Manage product portfolio management approach while gaining and maintaining positive stakeholder engagement
Implement governance that is appropriate for product and development team maturity
Drive facilitation, codification and maintenance of a product portfolio strategy for the Energy Platform ecosystem
Working with the Energy Platform ecosystem stakeholders, facilitate development of a product portfolio strategy and codify associated collateral (e.g. product portfolio canvas, positioning, alignment with business capabilities, business case, etc.)
Oversee the global governance and process for maintaining the product portfolio strategy
Proactively seek customer and stakeholder input into the product portfolio strategy
Serve as an industry-expert on the market, competitors, customer value proposition, business model, and differentiating capabilities of the Energy Platform ecosystem
Serve as an evangelist of the product portfolio strategy across stakeholders
Drive facilitation, codification and maintenance of a product portfolio roadmap for the Energy Platform ecosystem
Facilitate maintenance of a product portfolio roadmap across the Energy Platform ecosystem
Proactively seek customer and stakeholder input into roadmap, including organizing and facilitating product portfolio planning sessions
Facilitate alignment of releases, including coordinating dependencies, negotiating overlaps of scope, and eliminating misalignment in approach
Implement global governance and processes for maintaining product portfolio roadmap
Support other Energy Platform ecosystem teams and efforts
Support Shell’s efforts to commercially leverage the Energy Platform ecosystem
Support efforts to monetize the Energy Platform and ecosystem
Support delivery of beta and pilot programs
Serve as senior leader on the Energy Platform team
Serve as a senior leader of the Energy Platform team, providing expertise, support, and leadership across the Energy Platform team
Support Energy Platform business planning and continuous improvement activities

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
10 years of experience that informs program management capabilities in complex and innovative energy management solutions
Experience as both a technical program manager and program management office lead
Technical degree as well as an MBA a plus
Demonstrated leader in program management functions, with experience supporting portfolio-level product strategy, evaluation, and coordination delivery efforts
Demonstrated leadership in building strong stakeholder relationships and mitigating conflict across teams
Demonstrated leader in energy management domain, with experience in energy asset integrations, energy-domain platform services (e.g. tariff engines, energy market constraint builders, energy asset data models, etc.), and/or energy-domain applications (e.g. wholesale energy market bidding and transactions, DER product sales support tools, portfolio optimizations, grid management optimization, etc.)
Expertise in working across product development teams to design and deliver software solutions
Comfort across dual-track agile, project / program management office, lean portfolio management, product portfolio management, and agile program management best practices
