Description
The Senior IT Project Manager for the MRA Portfolio oversees various system projects and/or programs of a highly complex nature associated with Medicare Risk Adjustment IT work for Humana. Medicare Risk Adjustment is the group within Humana who review & submit encounter data to Medicare for reimbursement to ensure one of the primary sources of revenue for Humana. The Senior IT Project Manager work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors as it affects Humana's submission of encounter data to MRA for reimbursement.
You will lead a variety of different types of programs including launching new HERO application, other products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, BPO arrangements, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
Responsibilities
The Senior IT Project Manager assembles and leads project teams, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Often actively manages stakeholder partnerships and mitigates risks. Familiar with the system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. When managing programs, oversees the interdependencies and integration of interrelated projects, and sets strategies and leads program execution to deliver longer term business value. Can possess specialized knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks used to manage risks and issues unique to technology projects. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Responsibilities:
Single accountable party for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative.
Provides direct leadership and guidance to a staff of 4-5 IT Project managers.
Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.
Directs large-scale, complex programs often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners.
Accountable for one or more initiatives including business, operational, and IT deliverables.
Reports overall portfolio status, risk and issues to the HQRI Steering Committee.
Has direct oversight over all aspects of the program life cycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of its components projects.
Rigorously manages program scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters.
Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
Develops communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.
Chairs weekly Core Team and monthly Operating Committee meetings to review progress with key constituents.
Defines and tracks program milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
Establishes program team start-up structure including a program specific PMO and governance model.
Develops the program charter, integrated program plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related program artifacts.
Understands and champions the value proposition of the program.
Publishes periodic project status reports.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or a related field
10 or more years of comparable IT project management experience
Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively.
Sound business, financial and technical acumen.
Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure.
Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbal
Strong presentation skills
Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete objectives.
Demonstrated applied experience establishing and delivering complex programs.

Exemplary core project management skills including multiple aspects of the PMBOK
Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of the project management and SDLC methodologies and tools.
Ability to lead all types of project management methodologies - Waterfall, Kanban, Agile, SAFe Lean Agile.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Experience in the health solutions industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration
Resource management experience
Certfication - PPM, SAFe Lean Agile
