Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for ensuring Tyson products and ingredients meet the established quality standards by ensuring compliance with all relevant USDA FDA and other regulatory guidelines established for food manufacturing. Specific responsibilities include: Enforcing current good manufacturing practices GMPs and all relevant company policies and food safety regulations at Tyson Foods suppliers and contract manufactures. Evaluate suppliers and contract manufactures for suitability and readiness in accordance to Tyson Foods requirements by conducting food safety and quality audits reviews and verifying appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Individual in this position must be capable of engaging other business units in development and standardization of quality manuals policies procedures audit standards and Quality Key Performance Indicators. Ability to drive organizational alignment on Quality objectives with an enterprise-wide mindset a must. Other specific responsibilities include: analyzing and resolving food safety and or quality issues with sustainable corrective actions. Lead teams focused on investigation and improvement of quality issues such as consumer complaints specification deviations and or processing challenges. Work with the facilities and internal partners such as R D and procurement to manage the food safety and quality expectations for suppliers and contract manufactures through the approval process and ongoing approval conformance. Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management tools necessary to manage the incoming documentation and regulatory requirements. Support and manage product qualification needs across multiple facilities and production lines. Develop formats for effective communication on supplier and contract manufacture quality metrics and progress. Other specific responsibilities include oversight of the budget as it relates to controllable costs and other duties or special projects assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor s degree in food science related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food safety and quality within a food manufacturing environment. Minimum of one year experience working with food safety quality programs for supply management preferred. Thorough understanding of food safety principles and food processing. HACCP certification required. SQF and or BRC training required. Food Safety and Sanitation auditing experience preferred. Management experience of high-risk foods and their processes a plus.
Computer Skills: Proficient in the following Microsoft products: Excel Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of various Tyson Business Computer Systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal. Strong presentation skills required. Position will be responsible for effective verbal and written communication to plant and corporate team members and organization and structure of technical information and reports.
Special Skills: Must have good problem identification critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Travel: 50 or more
