The Materials Manager ensures a safe, efficient and accurate Materials Management operation, overseeing Warehouse activities including the management of inventory replenishment, movement, and control. Through developing strategies to improve efficiency and performance, the Materials Manager ensure operational service levels while keeping optimized inventory levels. The Materials Manager ensures the highest levels of inventory accuracy and ensures that all compliance and Operations Integrity activities are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage the warehousing activities and resources: Lead, direct, and manage the materials management organization; Manage the relationship with warehousing providers and define the service performance expected; Enforce safety, security, and environmental procedures and standards.
Define and implement optimized warehouse layout.
Support staffing of the GeoUnit Materials Management Team and develop their competencies.
Enforce the use of company standards and industry best practices in warehousing procedures: Maintain materials transaction accuracy accountability, both physically and as recorded in the Warehouse Management System; Ensure warehousing best practice are implemented; Share feedback on best practices implementation with the GeoUnit Distribution Manager to contribute to global distribution continuous improvement.
Manage the GeoUnitwarehousing performance and inventory level: Ensure physical and cycle counting programs are completed to schedule and closed according to policy; Manage the inventory level (stock value, DSOH, and slow-moving indicators); Drive continuous improvement and the use of LEAN tools to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce costs; Monitor the performance of third-party warehousing providers if relevant (costs, service); Provide regular performance reports at GeoUnit level on materials management• Lead, direct, train, and manage a team (Storekeepers and Materials Specialists).
Ensure compliance with established procedures and company standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow and storage for the warehouse and other inventory areas.
Ensure purchase order closure until reception in the Warehouse Management system (monitor open purchase order and invoiced-not-received reports).
Support the identification of intercompany redistribution opportunities and the translation of the opportunities into actual transfers, ensuring quality controls are executed and are compliant with the company procedures.
Perform periodic reviews of exception reports to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System, including but not limited to discrepancies between systems, unit price, aged open/failed/pending for approval/unmatched transactions, and inactive parts.
Perform Cycle Count and Periodical Physical Counts: Plan Creation/Posting of Adjustments/Root Cause and reporting according to the global procedure.
Prepare and provide monthly reports as required by management.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 5 years related inventory/materials management experience
Need to be able to think independently and problem solve.
Candidates should have strong SAP (or similar system) experience
Understand the calculations and industry-wide methods used for counting
Know how to use Excel at or beyond the intermediate level (know formulas, calculations, pivoting, metrics, data manipulation, vlookup)
Understand how VLMs work
Understand at least basic data analysis
Understand stock value and management of stock values
