Rendering Superintendent

Profile

This position is responsible for overseeing all Rendering operations; controlling expenses; compliance with the federal meat inspection (USDA) and OSHA requirements.

What you will do:

Plan, assign and direct workflow in all designated areas. Monitor and appraise work performance, reward coach, counsel, and discipline. Work with department heads to meet production yields, quality goals and metric goals. Maintain labor standards to ensure quality performance and products. Inspect and maintain a high level of housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety. Interview and hire hourly team members and supervisors. Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors. Prepare and maintain records and reports to ensure they accurately reflect conditions. Must be capable of effectively communicating verbally and in writing with hourly team members, upper management and government officials. Lead people by example, accept and delegate responsibility, display sound judgment and decision-making skills; problem solve in an efficient manner with sound follow up. Requires knowledge of OSHA, USDA and HAACP regulations. Standard computer skills required including Outlook, MS Excel, Word. Must have the ability to run simple queries and generate reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma required. College degree preferred.

5 plus years of supervisory experience in a Fresh Meats Beef or Pork processing plant required.

5 plus years’ experience in a Fresh Meats Beef or Pork Rendering Operation required.

Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
