Description
The Lead Product Manager will own the analytics engine product which our data science team has built for Humana's clinical programs. The analytics engine is an orchestration of different machine learning models and analytic components which are used to identify the highest risk and most impactable members for the specific clinical services at Humana. The Lead Product Manager conceives, develops, delivers, and manages the analytics engine product requirements and vision based on stakeholder needs and broader understanding of Humana's business strategy.
Responsibilities
At Humana, the clinical products and services we offer our members are central to our success as an enterprise. A key goal is to deploy our clinical services in a way that can help members achieve their best health. Analytics has taken a bigger role in helping match members to their appropriate level of care and Humana is developing analytic products to meet this need. The Lead Product Manager for the analytics engine will play a key role in the development of the analytic products needed by the enterprise. The Lead Product Manager will engage with key business partners to understand the requirements and business needs and then conceive solutions by working with the data science development team. The Lead Product Manager will be responsible for assuring that the needs of the business and customers is well understood and that the product developed meets the needs of the customers. A primary skill that the Lead Product Manager plays in the process is first translating business needs and requirements into analytic requirements for the development team. Then translating data science solutions into business friendly language. Often times the Lead Product Manager will need to navigate ambiguous needs and unclear conversations to determine potential solutions or next steps in order to better define business needs. This process requires understanding of Humana's business strategy and specifically our clinical program strategies. Alignment of these strategies with analytic solutions is a vital part of this role.
The Lead Product Manager leads all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to implementation into a production environment, by developing analytic products to meet specific customer needs and achieve specific cost and success outcomes. Once products are launched, monitors efficacy of products and uses customer and business partner feedback to ensure products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation, adjusting products over time to continue to achieve the desired outcomes. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
