Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing breeder operations and producing the necessary eggs for hatcheries to produce chicks and maintain efficient plant operations. Responsibilities include ordering and placing breeder pullets and males necessary to supply the proper amount of broilers for plant requirements. This also includes managing pullet and breeder hen techs to insure all feed water ventilation and bio-security programs are followed for good bird health and good egg production to meet projections. This position is also required to maintain a responsible and productive grower base on contract pullet farms and breeder hen farms to have a good grower relation for best results. Other responsibilities include overseeing the proper vaccination program done by vaccination crews to insure proper health and protection for pullets and males in their growing cycle. This position is also responsible for maintaining an open line of communication between breeder farms breeder techs and hatchery to supply good quality fertile hatching eggs in a timely manner for the production of broiler chicks to meet broiler placement projections. Other responsibilities include assisting supervisors in training and day to day dealing with Team Members working with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to ensure the production of high quality eggs and working with Broiler Growers and Technicians to maintain the ideal environment for chicks. Other duties include fumigating and maintaining eggs while in the incubator arranging for chicks to be delivered to the farm and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Education beyond High School including special training vocational school and or college courses is preferred. Experience: Depends on level of education obtained. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills creating simple queries etc. Travel: 1 - 5 trips per year Supervisory Responsibility: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
