Primary responsibilities may include teaching courses in choral literature, conducting techniques, and seminar as agreed upon with the Division Head and in coordination with other CCM choral and conducting faculty. The Director is expected to participate in divisional, college and university-wide committees, in accordance with CCM and University bylaws, and to prepare the program for major cyclical external and internal reviews from NASM and the UC Graduate School. They expected to recruit top level students from around the world and maintain the reputation, academic integrity, and artistic standards of the program. Applicants with knowledge of vocal pedagogy and function both in solo and choral contexts will have an advantage in working with singers in CCM’s top-ranked vocal program.
