What We’re Looking For:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for two key functions: (1) managing, nurturing and developing 60 corporate accounts in their respective region; and (2) expanding the 2U Enterprise Sales footprint by owning all aspects of the enterprise sales process. This process includes prospecting new organizations, completing needs analyses, proposing suitable solutions based on 2U’s portfolio of short courses, bootcamps & degrees whilst maintaining and growing corporate relationships.

Business Development Managers are required to implement a balanced approach of new business development and account management activities that involves a high contact strategy, establishing great relationships, implementing account specific strategies that involve capability frameworks and consistently reviewing clients unique learning needs.

This role requires persistence, creative problem solving and a proactive, ambitious approach to B2B selling. This person will work closely with the VP, Head of Enterprise Sales to maximize deal closing efficiency.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Achieving set monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets through continuous account management and new business development activities.

Building up to & managing a minimum of 60 client accounts through a customer contact strategy that includes regular virtual interaction (face to face depending on Covid regulations), creating multiple contact points in each corporate account, and personal relationship building with these contacts;

Maximzing the contribution to overall company performance, by generating recurring revenue from these corporate customers.

Continuously researching and prospecting new business opportunities through cold calling, and alternative reach out methods;

Pitching and presenting 2U’s product offerings to new business opportunities and existing clients;

Completing regular needs analyses, formulating proposals, detailing costing, and negotiating payment terms with organisations.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

3 - 4 Year Marketing or Sales related qualification

5 - 8 Years business development or account management experience in a B2B environment - preferably SAAS technologies; IT; or online education

Experience dealing with, and successfully, influencing high level/C-suite executives

Ability to multitask, manage projects and work under pressure

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, negotiation skills and creativity

New business development experience

Account Management experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic data analysis skills

Willingness to travel internationally & domestically

Drivers license

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is ($60,000), with potential bonus eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
