Job Details:
SUMMARY: The primary responsibilities are to supervise, direct and ensure that the design, process, and delivery of the finished products and services consistently meet and/or exceed customer's expectations. Responsible for ensuring that the company achieves its goal of quality that is essential for enhancing growth and stability. Essential duties and responsibilities are to create a culture of safety and teamwork throughout the facility. Ensure compliance with GMP, USDA standards, Environmental Control Act and OSHA standards. Lead health, safety, and environmental processes for assigned areas. Maintain working relationship with the collective bargaining unit, ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement to achieve company goals. Responsible for compliance with Tyson's policies and procedures, ethics, plant rules and all regulatory agencies. Support the operation in ways to improve efficiencies and to help reduce overall costs. Lead and develop a high performing work organization utilizing Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement concepts that maximize employee teamwork, contributions, suggestions, and decisions. Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals. Supervise up to 80 associates to help achieve key performance objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business, Food, or Animal Science is a plus).
Experience: 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience preferred (Consumer packaged goods preferred). 3-5 years of sanitation experience preferred. Supervisory experience in a USDA/FDA regulated FOOD manufacturing environment preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy-Microsoft office required.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills.
Special Skills: Effective time management and organizational skills. Problem solving and planning skills focused on the ability to plan, prioritize and execute. Must be able to utilize lean management techniques, such as 5S, Standardized Work, promotion of Pull Systems, plus a continual focus on waste elimination through facilitation of problem solving tools and practices. Must be willing and able to work off shifts (2nd/3rd), weekend work required.
Supervisory: Supervise 20-30 associates to help achieve key performance objectives.
Travel: less than 10%
