Description
The Senior Product Manager role is a part of the Pharmacy Product & Growth organization and will be responsible for leading initiatives that help drive value for CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy. This role will develop new products and enhance existing capabilities to drive pharmacy growth for all patients, including Humana covered lives across Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial medical and pharmacy insurance products. Although this is an individual contributor role, this person will be looked at as a leader.
This individual contributor will engage in all phases of the product lifecycle to ideate, develop, deliver, and manage products for customer use. The Senior Product Manager will need to build relationships with internal knowledge leaders and lead cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements and effectively implement change, while mitigating operational risk. The right candidate will make data-driven decisions, be an effective communicator, have an eye for details and display an entrepreneurial work-ethic. The right candidate will enjoy working independently and taking the initiative to prioritize and manage assigned projects while still meeting deadlines. This role will be expected to communicate across all levels of leadership within Humana and be able to work with executive leaders.

The Senior Product Manager ideates, develops and manages new product ideas, enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products and capabilities. They lead, plan and track all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. They will evaluate new opportunities using data driven methodology to help prioritize and finalize strategic decisions.
This role will support the specialty pharmacy growth goals and take an active role in identifying opportunities and lead efforts to enhance existing capabilities and products that support the specialty pharmacy business.
Key Responsibilities
Owns the end-to-end strategy, design and execution of product development
Leads cross-functional teams that include a wide spectrum of subject matter experts that can include nurses, pharmacists and regional medical directors, lawyers, actuaries, business analysts, information technologists, operational partners and more
Defines stage-gate criteria and makes decisions throughout product development process
Requires independent judgement and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives
Communicate with and influence stakeholders to make product development an inclusive process
Develop and maintain reporting measurements that define product success
Influences product strategy and roadmap, provides consumer insights and analysis of market findings rooted in data
Makes executive level recommendations regarding investments, development lifecycle and prioritization
Accountable for analysis, development and evaluation of new product ideas, enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions and translates research discoveries into concepts to test
Participates in vendor contract planning and implementing new solutions with third-party entities
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5 or more years of product management experience and/or clinical implementation
Leadership skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
Must be passionate and take pride in your work
10 % travel - planned meetings or trainings (if needed)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Pharmacy Benefit Management experience
Specialty Pharmacy experience
Healthcare Industry experience
Experience analyzing data, including claims data
Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Commercial insurance benefits
Growth mindset
Project management experience
Vendor management experience
Information Technology (IT) development experience
