SUMMARY
Global Management Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Quality Control Manager for DFC Roads & Grounds in Lakewood, CO. The Quality Control manager will describe all methods, procedures and documentation how to fulfill the quality and safety of the contract and identify potential and actual problem and risk areas in meeting the requirements of the contract. Responsible for the implementation, documentation, and execution of the quality control/safety system of the project. Ensure projects comply with applicable plans, standards, specifications, and construction practices. This role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection of the work flow process to ensure quality is maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
On-site management of the QC process
Quality Control inspections and reporting
Maintain Quality Control Plan
Project coordination between all parties; subcontractors, owner’s reps, etc. on all QC related issues
Input on the project schedule with the Project Manager to ensure that all submittals are approved, long lead times are accounted for, materials are inspected upon arrival, preparatory meetings are scheduled, hold points are performed and work in the field is inspected while underway
Attendance at regular internal and external progress meetings including submittal updates
Development of daily reports with Project Manager
Assistance to the Project Manager in the development of punch lists
Review and processing of project submittals and shop drawings
Active roll with Project Manager in weekly “tool box talks” with all staff on site
Other Duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
High School Degree
At least 3 years of mgmt. supervision, or QCM experience
Experience on a DOD or Federal site is preferred
Roads & Grounds Experience
OSHA 10/30 Training
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Possess good organization and communication skills, as well as maturity and ability to deal with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company.
Must be able to read, write, speak and, understand directions clearly.
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to work with hands and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in the field.
Demonstrated knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position will require extensive work in the field including work during all seasons and in all weather. As the QCM, your daily duties will require access and inspections within all areas of the site which would require the use of ladders as well as traversing irregular surfaces with obstacles.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Most job duties and time will be spent on an active job site which can involve all weather conditions including temperature extremes and working around equipment. Time will probably be split 50/50 between the field and in an office environment for meetings or paperwork.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to Federal Installation. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to Federal Installation.
