Job Purpose/Summary:
The role will Inform channel & customer strategy by leveraging Tyson category knowledge, industry trends and customer data to provide actionable insights
The Manager Channel & Customer Insights role will report into the Senior Manager Channel & Customer Insights. This role will work in conjunction with our cross-functional teams including Channel Development, Consumer Insights, Business Units and Retail Shopper Insights Team. This role will work closely with our strategic data providers to expand our capabilities internally with a customer focus.
The primary responsibility for this position is to develop Foodservice Leadership Platforms and to provide proactive analysis and insights across all channels of Foodservice and for designated key customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Build out Leadership Platforms across Categories (Menu/Day Parts) and Channels, understanding both the Consumer & Operator perspective
Identify key drivers & emerging trends (traffic, servings) to leverage with Customers or for internal QBR & Strategic Planning support
Leverages customer data to drive assortment & menu strategies.
Utilize Tyson’s consumer and operator research to gain foundational insights.
Conduct proactive analysis on our Foodservice dashboards, promotions and LTOs for trends and provide actionable insights.
Identify key drivers for our team members to leverage with their customers or for internal planning sessions.
Provide training on syndicated tools (e.g. NPD, CREST)
Requirements:
Education/Certifications: BS in marketing or another business-related field required. MBA preferred.
Experience: 5 plus years’ experience in category management, channel/sales analytics, market research and or agency in Food or CPG industry.
Computer Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis focused on building Excel spreadsheets as analysis tools and PowerPoint to build the story. Proficient systems knowledge and experience with syndicated databases such as NPD, Datassential, Technomic and Nielsen Products
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written and data visualization/storytelling communication skills. Public speaking skills for presentations to senior management, peers and customers required.
Special Skills: Strong project management, trouble shooting and problem solving skills; strategic skill sets based on a combination of fact based consumer/operator data and qualitative data to create customer vision for sustained business growth; leadership by influence; ability to comfortably sell ideas to others who ultimately will make the business decisions; work cross-functionally with a multitude of Sales Teams and Business Units who each have different processes and management styles; ability to lead data partners based on project management.
