Job Description
You will serve as subject matter expert and partner to advocacy and policy teams. In this role, you will navigate internal and external relationships on a variety of topics related to commercial contracting, medical affairs, R&D, regulatory compliance, strategic partnerships and Intellectual Property work. Most importantly, you’ll support our teams in delivering our mission of bringing the right dose to the right patient at the right time all over the world.

Calculated and informed risks measured by compiling, analyzing, and reviewing quantitative & qualitative information.
The Managing Counsel USCAN will provide general transactional support for PDx US and Canada operations, primarily by handling a wide range of agreements of varying complexity for our company.
The Managing Counsel will maintain frequent contact with all client functions within the company, managing requests and prioritization of projects.
He or She will Act as a trusted business partner and thought leader to stakeholders across the business, as well as identify operational risks and propose solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
Support research, development, marketing, promotion, and commercialization of pharmaceutical products as the advocacy and government relations counsel for the Region
Lead and manage the PDx Legal team in the Region, making sure there is an appropriate coverage, allocation of responsibilities and level of support policies. legislative/regulatory
Provide subject matter expertise and partnership to advocacy and policy teams, including trade association efforts, pricing and reimbursement strategies, and Partner with the Americas business team to identify opportunities to drive business forward
Apply combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships, and other issues requiring legal or compliance attentioncommercial, compliance and improper payments matters advertising/promotional,
Advise the business on regulatory, privacy, antitrust,
Support business development activities focusing on agreements for co-development, co-promotion, and/or licensing projects.
Draft, review, and negotiate strategic business agreements and transactions.
Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, license, sourcing and other agreements, as well as related transactional matters.
Provide regulatory and compliance advice and training, in conjunction with the Regulatory and Compliance specialist areas in GE Healthcare.
Maintain local commercial and compliance policies and procedures; ensure consistent application of these throughout the PDx Americas business via sound partnering with the business.
Manage/support the management of: disputes, litigation, and incidents involving PDx products.
Collaborate with regional legal colleagues and subject matters experts to analyze and advise the business on complex legal/compliance issues that arise out of PDx operations
Manage outside counsel, when brought in to assist
Coordinate with PDx General Counsel and regional counsels as needed, on global projects
Qualifications/Requirements
JD in law (or global equivalent)
At least 12-15 years of relevant law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department
Previous exposure and relevant experience in the Pharma/Life Sciences/Healthcare sector with ability, experience, confidence and influencing skills needed to advise at leadership level; previous exposure to healthcare/pharma industry regulations in the Americas
Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment
Desired Characteristics
Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively
Ability to make on the spot risk calls
Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment
Active bar membership
Ability to communicate using English
2nd or 3rd language a PLUS
Well-developed interpersonal skills required to lead cross-functionally
Business acumen, ability to provide legal advice as part of cross-functional teams finding winning solutions as a team
Experience with the typical compliance rules and regulations of the Pharma/Life Sciences/Healthcare sector in the country
