WHAT YOU BRING
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of experience; ideally in Public Accounting and/or Corporate Accounting
Strong foundation of accounting skills with experience in U.S. GAAP, SEC research, and Technical Accounting, Research & Policy
Consistent record of developing high-profile, influential, and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers as well as an interest in the application of leadership concepts in areas such as innovation, inspiration, employee development, mentoring, and engagement
Proven track record communicating sophisticated and/or critical topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
Experience working with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) is preferred
International Work experience is a PLUS

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Technical Accounting and Policy Director with strong relationship-building and influencing skills, to help shape future reporting and disclosure pronouncements by presenting the Company’s position to standard setters. This person will also advise global accounting partners on complex accounting and policy matters, deliver technical accounting training to the NIKE global controlling team and provide valuable insights to the larger NIKE finance function through extensive external benchmarking.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be working with the rest of the Technical Accounting & Policy team to support NIKE team members by:
Monitoring emerging accounting guidance, participating in standard setter outreach, and authoring comment letters for proposed changes in accounting guidance that may impact NIKE
Advising on NIKE accounting policies and procedures to confirm compliance with emerging US GAAP and ensuring policies remain relevant with evolving business activities
Providing technical accounting advice on complex business transactions
Researching, resolving, and detailing technical accounting issues
Creating and delivering training and education materials around NIKE accounting policies to partners across the global business
Developing and executing standard methodologies to enhance the value of the Technical Accounting and Policy function within the Controlling organization
Crafting strong business partnerships across functions both within and external to Controlling
Establishing a leadership presence within the Controlling organization, through formal and informal mentoring relationships
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role reports to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting and Reporting and partners with team members across the NIKE organization, both at headquarters and within each of the geographies. Additionally, you will develop and utilize existing external relationships with standard setters and industry peers through extensive benchmarking activity.
