As we celebrate PRIDE Month, Community Care Alliance is pleased to launch the opening of a new LGBTQ emergency shelter. Located in Providence, this house offers a welcoming environment safe from stigma, judgment, and violence. First Shift Case management responsibilities including evaluating client needs and developing an individualized plan with emphasis on connecting individuals to permanent housing. Barriers to obtaining and maintaining housing are also addressed, including obtaining identification, resolving legal issues, connecting with behavioral health supports/treatment, completing applications for benefits, coordinating with medical providers, and more. Some of these responsibilities will be associated with 2

nd

shift. On 3

rd

shift, responsibilities are primarily supervision of the clients and facility. This is an AWAKE shift.
