We have an immediate opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Manager
General Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager directs the day to day operations of Plant Operations, Bio-Medical Services, Security Services, Environmental Services and other departments as deemed necessary by the hospital, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The Manager promotes a professional and comfortable atmosphere for all customers by diagnosing and performing repairs to all plant and facility assets.
Patient Population:
Has contact with patients in a non-clinical setting; understands and demonstrates appropriate behavior when interacting with patients in the adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older) populations.
Essential Functions:
Uses discretion and independent judgment to organize and manage plant operations at the facility. Determines schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities by way of the facility PM Program to ensure work is completed within the facility, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel. Maintains and models effective working relationships with hospital employees, medical staff, patients, families and visitors.
Provides leadership in developing performance standards for all plant operations and security personnel (to include contracted personnel if applicable). Evaluates and counsels all employees on their performance in a professional and timely manner.
Responsible for department’s financial performance to include: monitoring and controlling resource utilization and expenditures, while ensuring adherence to operating budget.
Plans, organizes, and coordinates department functions and activities to achieve objectives and complies with regulatory standards and requirements while capturing all applicable work order activity within the facility PM Program. Ensures routine and non-routine inspections are performed and hospital structure and equipment meet existing codes set forth by local, state and federal government agencies. Directs, schedules and supervises maintenance and repairs on all hospital equipment, structures and vehicles in a timely manner.
Ensures that necessary logs and records are maintained including preventive maintenance and operation. Oversees the installation of new structures and equipment in accordance with contractor or manufacturer specifications. Ensures that necessary documentation to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and accreditation requirements is maintained
Assesses problem situations related to patients, families, visitors, staff and physicians. After thorough investigation, plans and implements corrective action as needed. Evaluates incidents and communicates to direct supervisor. Maintains and models effective working relationships with all hospital employees, physicians, patients, families and visitors. Communicates and collaborates with Administrator-On-Call as appropriate for solutions of any specific and/or unusual situations (e.g., activation of disaster plan).
Serves as the Hospital Safety Officer. Oversees the Hospital’s fire/safety program to include: scheduling/leading Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety (LS) meetings; following up as needed to ensure completion and compliance; conducting in-services on safety and fire procedures and proper equipment storage usage; reports unsafe practices and makes recommendations; remains informed of all local, state and federal regulations pertaining to fire and safety practices; and works with fire and safety officials for information and recommendations.

Requirements
Supervision:
Manages the activities and personnel of Plant Operations Department.
Experience:
Five to seven years of hospital plant operations or maintenance experience. Three years of supervisory or comparable experience.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
