What We’re Looking For:
The Senior Director, Project Management Office (PMO), will join the newly established PMO with the TechDev organization, and manage Scrum Masters and/or Project Managers dedicated to a team(s) to ensure we deliver on the business outcomes and objectives according to agreed-to timelines and budgets. The Senior Director oversees efforts to ensure that the business strategy and execution are strongly aligned and deployed appropriately to improve the communication of business results and project progress. The Senior Director will coach and mentor individuals and teams to discover and implement improved ways of collaborating and developing into high-performing, self-organizing, Agile units.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Evaluate and enhance the use of project management methodologies and Agile best practices across TechDev, by leading a team of project managers and scrum masters to ensure we are employing the right practices and processes to achieve our goals
Direct the design and evolution of implementation methodologies with an emphasis on efficiency, consistency, and alignment with operational needs
Drive a practice of continuous improvement across TechDev - use data to diagnose issues and drive constant improvement in operational efficiency and team velocity
Create and lead efficient and effective monitoring and reporting of project progress across the organization, including to the Executive team
Ensure tight alignment of activities across functional teams through cross-functional planning, regular communications, and status updates
Ensure project plans are established and maintained through the project / product lifecycle
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computers Science or a related discipline
6 years experience in project/program management in education operations, publishing, or a related field
Proven experience working in an Agile environment, in a variety of positions – team member, Scrum master
Demonstrated expertise in Agile / Scrum frameworks and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc) and experience training an organization to embrace these methodologies across numerous projects and product cycles
Superior editing, writing, and critical reasoning skills
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and presence
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly
Confident decision-making skills and an ability to lead people in order to get results
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
